Vermont Army National Guard C-12 Pilot Openings

Recommended Posts

The Vermont Army National Guard (VTARNG) is looking to hire 1-2 traditional part-time (M-day) C-12 (King Air 200/BE-200) Huron Pilots for their Operational Support Airlift (OSA) State Flight Detachment (SFD).  These positions are located at the Vermont Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) at Burlington International Airport, VT (KBTV).  We are a very small fixed wing aviation unit consisting of just: 6 Pilots, 1 NCO and 1 Aircraft supporting the Joint Operational Support Airlift Center (JOSAC), Operational Support Airlift-Activity (OSA-A), and the Vermont National Guard.  We fly passengers (E-1 to O-10) and cargo throughout CONUS, as well as being an OCONUS deployable unit.

These pilot positions are on a “flex-drill” schedule allowing you to work your annual 24 unit training assembly (UTA) drill days, 15 annual training (AT) days and 48 additional flight training period (AFTP) days as your civilian work schedule permits.  Ideally, we would like to see you fly a minimum of 4-6 days per month, but we understand the needs of having a “work/life balance” for our part-timers.  Our preference is for local pilots or those who will be relocating to New England or Upstate New York, but being located at an international airport with major airline service there is a strong possibility for guys looking to commute in who can us give multiple days of availability each month.

Unfortunately, due to budget constraints and lack of initial WOCS/IERW flight training slots, we are seeking only U.S. military rated aviators (fixed and/or rotary wing), but we prefer C-12 or fixed wing qualified.  However we encourage aviators of any airframe, rank, age, currency, branch, or years of services to apply.  These positions are currently coded for Chief Warrant Officers (WO1-CW5), so Commissioned Officers will have to revert to CWO to be in the unit.  The typical duties as a C-12 M-day CWO are pretty much flying the airplane and aviation related.  These are currently part-time positions only, but in the future there may be possibilities for AGR openings.

If you are interested in learning more about these opening or want to apply, please feel free to contact CW2 Matt Smith at: matthew.hall.smith@hotmail.com
