I read exactly one paragraph before I got pissed. 99% of the civilians who read that will think asking a woman to remove her blouse means he would sitting there in her bra.

Does anyone really think the AF can fix sexual harrassment? You'd have about as much luck fixing DUIs and suicide.

And WTF network is Shaw in that its even possible to get porn on a computer?

The reporter is trying to tell a story like a fighter pilot...you know 10% true.

There's a wide gulf between "high marks" and "no derogatory information"..

There are plenty of Enlisted people who have good/great records and can't get promoted. They're usually bad testers. That's were the STEP stripes come in, however if you're trying to file complaints against your leadership for EO/IG issues, then don't expect to get promoted.

“They can’t deal with women in fighter squadrons,” Sergeant Smith said.

What a joke. We have 3 chick fighter pilots and another inbound and nobody could give a rat's ass. The only thing that matters is if they can perform in the jet and are good "bros." I don't know what her personal story truly entails, but sweeping generalizations like this are way out of line.

Any Shaw guys on here got any fallout news?

http://www.nytimes.c...wanted=all&_r=0

"She said she finally got fed up and decided to go public after discovering large collections of pornography and other sexually graphic and offensive materials stored on the unit’s computers and in a vault supposedly reserved for classified documents at Shaw."

Weird quote from her in the article:

“The pilots know we think of them like our heroes,” she added. “It’s just a game to them, really.”

Sounds like she came in young and star struck. You would think if we were viewed that heroically by finance and MPF, we would be able to get our stuff straight more often and make fewer trips.

Uh oh...she's exposed the seedy underbelly of the drunken, foul mouthed and porn addicted fighter pilot community.

Here's what I thought to be the most ridiculous statement in the entire article...

Her account of abuse suggests that more than 20 years after Tailhook, the infamous 1991 scandal involving Navy fighter pilots, little has changed in the insular fighter pilot culture.

They could not be more wrong.

About 20 percent of female veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan have experienced some form of sexual assault or related trauma

I would have thought that more than 20% of desert queens might have been rejected by a dude at some point...traumatizing indeed.

######ing coward. If legitimate bad shit happens, put an end to it. If not, then STFU and do your job and DON'T hold illegitimate, out of context grudges for 17 years as a mediocre TSgt and spill your biased guts to the civilian sector.

I don't care how PC it is, men and women don't mix in the fraternity that is the 'combat arms'.

The problem is, that they let the women in, but only got rid of half the offensive stuff. Guess what morons, gotta erase the porno on the SIPR...jesus people are retarded. Oh, and yea, you gotta stop sweeping up the random chicks for namings...lol

So, how is it that she has such good performance reports, yet she's still a TSgt at 17 years?

Some people don't test well, and we all know how inflated the EPR system is. Anything less than a 5 makes the person a scumbag.
