Only two Growler slots drop each year, and they drop from the WSO track.

That seems so wrong, but I’m prejudiced.  My EW school was almost six months long after nav school.

What good is a WSO who doesn’t know what a prf is going to be to a growler squadron?

Such a person would be almost useless in a Weasel or Raven squadron back in the day.

I am a former C-130E AWADS (Active)/ H3 (Guard) Nav for about 10 years in 90s and early 00s. It is interesting to read what folks are getting these days and the return of track based training.

In my time tanker navs were seemingly on the way out with pacer crag etc. I know some were kept for special missions. I am curious of the current status of the 707/135 types. I heard E-3G / DRAGON was doing away with the nav and I assume E-8 (either retiring or DRAGON) would do away with the spot as well.

What about the RC-135 ? Will the front end CSO go away?

Are any of you UCT studs getting any of these anymore?
