  2. The NGB emailed my recruiter, my recruiter then emailed me.

  4. From a guy who is not an ANG pilot, answering #2 with my past experience: Do your own research, learn as much as possible about the airframe, unit, and mission on your own. Then ask the questions. Your questions will be more educated, genuine, and ultimately peak your own interest; therefore, likely to lead to more meaningful conversations and connections. Telling you what to ask is not you being yourself. The quickest way for them to turn you down, is for you to ask some BS questions with the sole purpose of leaving a lasting impression to get an interview. They will see any hubris or mock version of you. Just be yourself and you will be perfectly fine. Good luck!
  5. From what I've seen in the last 2 years of being on the circuit, ~12 months from hire to OTS is a reasonable expectation for non-priors. Why did it take ~10 months to be gained after finishing MEPS? Why did it take ~6 months to get an FC1 date after being gained? Maybe there were hiccups in your MEPS physical and/or getting an FC1 date. If so, I would understand why your timeline is longer than normal. But if not, I would ask the question, are you being to patient with your recruiter? Assuming you passed your FC1, at least you made it this far regardless of how long it took.
  6. Reading through this old thread, Raytheon Technologies offers diff pay. So does Boeing I believe.
  7. Anybody here know if the NGB is taking > or < 60 days for for recent approvals to appoint? hoping to hit OTS this summer/fall. Update on the now 2 year old timeline: AFOQT test: March 2020 TBAS test: May 2020 Interview & Selected as Alternate: Aug 2020 AFOQT retake: March 2021 TBAS retake: April 2021 Interview & hired: July 2021 Submitted request to FC1: Oct 2021 Received FC1 Date: Nov 2021 FC1: 18 Jan 2022 FC1 stamped: 1 Feb 2022 Enlistment: 5 Feb 2022 NGB Submission: 16 March 2022
  8. I am off the street, non-prior. The common misconception is that you need to go to MEPS and be enlisted prior to the FC1. That is not true. I was just as confused when my recruiter told me that I would be skipping MEPS all together and enlisting AFTER I received an FC1 stamp. Turned out to be about the smoothest process I could ask for.
  9. Update on the timeline: AFOQT test: March 2020 TBAS test: May 2020 Interview & Selected as Alternate: Aug 2020 AFOQT retake: March 2021 TBAS retake: April 2021 Interview & hired: July 2021 Submitted request to FC1: Oct 2021 Received FC1 Date: Nov 2021 FC1: 18 Jan 2022 FC1 stamped: 1 Feb 2022 Enlistment: 6 Feb 2022 NGB approval: OTS dates: Anyone have recent gouge on the time it takes to get OTS dates after submitting the NGB officer packet?
  10. Update on the timeline: AFOQT test: March 2020 TBAS test: May 2020 Interview & Selected as Alternate: Aug 2020 AFOQT retake: March 2021 TBAS retake: April 2021 Interview & hired: July 2021 Submitted request to FC1: Oct 2021 Received FC1 Date: Nov 2021 FC1: 18 Jan 2022 FC1 stamped: 1 Feb 2022
  11. Just finished up at WP and required an OCT waiver (thinner than normal, behind the retina). The docs said this is a rubber stamp waiver and should be approved no problem...will see if that holds true. I'm curious if anyone has completed their FC1 in recent weeks/months and has any idea of current timeline for receiving FC1 stamps/notification of approval.
  12. News that Wright Patterson AFB Commander Col. Patrick Miller is now considering moving the base to HPCON Delta due to the rise of COVID cases. If WPAFB moves to HPCON Delta, how would that impact those of us with upcoming flight physicals? What has happened in the past when a base is moved to Delta? Hoping someone on here can share their opinion/thoughts on this. 13. Anybody heading to Wright Patterson the week of 18 January?
  14. @Aviator555When did you submit a request for an FC1 appointment? My recruiter sent my request and I had my FC1 dates from WP back to me within 2-3 weeks. I am also Guard, so maybe the timeline is a little different for you.
  15. Update on the timeline: AFOQT test: March 2020 TBAS test: May 2020 Interview & Selected as Alternate: Aug 2020 TBAS retake: April 2021 AFOQT retake: March 2021 Interview & hired: July 2021 Submitted request to FC1: Oct 2021 Received FC1 Date: Nov 2021 FC1: 18 Jan 2022
  16. Does anyone here know the length of time it typically takes to hear from WPAFB for FC1 Physical requests? My recruiter sent out my FC1 request forms a few weeks ago. When you received your FC1 dates, how far in advanced were you scheduled? I heard 2-3 weeks is standard.
  17. I can't answer your question on going enlisted to officer. I know of several ROTC cadets that received a waiver for a third retake on the AFOQT after failing the first two exams. I would look into that before enlisting. His best resource for seeking a waiver for a third retake would be his cadre.
  18. Non-Prior, Guard Fighters: AFOQT: March 2020 TBAS: May 2020 Interview: 01 August 2020 Selected as Alternate: 04 August 2020 AFOQT Retake: March 2021 TBAS Retake: April 2021 Re-interview w/ same unit: June 2021, hired as primary MEPS: ? Enlistment: ? FC1: ? OTS: ? UPT: ?
  19. Thanks for sharing! Good to hear it from another point of view. If it doesn't streamline the process by much like you mentioned, my only thought is: By getting the FC1 completed 1st, the hiring unit will know sooner rather than later whether or not I am even medically qualified to fly for the USAF. Honestly, I would prefer to know whether or not I will even pass the FC1...... I never had any surgeries or major medical history that I imagine disqualifying me (or requiring a waiver) but I do know that the docs at Wright Patt will tell you all things wrong with yourself that you didn't know you had haha My hiring unit has a low percentage of primary selects making it passed the FC1. Maybe that is why we are going this route.
  20. @Auspicious Aviator 1) As @7thokage mentioned, not important. I think its okay to not have signatures, but if you can get them signed for every squadron it would look more professional, a few of mine are not signed. I don't think it is make or break. 2) I have used Bogi Dope and the content in the e-courses are great materials to read through a few days/weeks before an interview. You get great advice from guys who went through the same process you and I are in and it has shown me things I have been doing wrong in my resume/cover letter I would not have known otherwise. 3) Ask to schedule to speak with a pilot. I came to many dead ends until I started asking to speak with a specific pilot. I found success in doing some research on the squadron, finding a pilot mentioned in their website, and requesting to speak with Maj. ### about his journey/experience.
  21. @HelpWithAFOQTMy original scores were as follows, and like you I thought I was well prepared the first time, turns out I was not: PCSM: 75 P: 87 N: 48 AA: 36 V: 17 Q: 24 With these scores, I have gotten interviews at both Fighter and Heavy units in 2020-2021. So keep applying. AFOQT/TBAS Retake: (Yes, retake the TBAS, you run a risk of scoring lower, but you also have a chance to do better, it shows that you will take a risk to be more competitive) I studied my ass off for 2 months 1-1.5 hours a night before I retook the TBAS and AFOQT. I chose to retake the TBAS first, when I did, my PCSM improved by 6 points. 2 months later I retook AFQOT and pushed both my pilot and PCSM into the 90s. Don't be discouraged, I thought I studied well enough the first time....the second go around I knew what to expect, I studied my weak areas, and got it done.. Weak on the math?....buy this book and know how to answer every single question before you retake the test: https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=rrP1DwAAQBAJ&gl=us The table reading is 40 free points, don't retake the AFOQT until you can get all 40 table reading points accomplished in the allotted time and make sure your answers are correct when you practice. Want to do better on the TBAS? All I can say is be 100% on the directional orientation flashcards. Nice job on the Verbal. PM me if you have any questions, good luck.
  22. Posting an update for anyone that has a similar question in the future. Below are my new scores after retaking both the TBAS and AFOQT. INITIAL SCORES: 1st AFOQT Pilot Score: 87 1st PCSM Score: 83 @ 101-200 hour bracket....87 @ 201+ hours RETAKE SCORES: 2nd AFOQT Pilot Score: 93 2nd PCSM Score: 93 @ 101-200 hour bracket...96 @ 201+ hours Highly recommend retaking if it is available to you.
  23. You rocked the retake on the AFOQT man...thanks for sharing...I'll share my results on this thread when I retake...gunning for the end of April to give myself a month to take practice tests.
  24. @S_Einstrument I think I got them all, and I don't think I got all 40 of the table readings, I'll push to get them all done, good points man. @7thokageYou must have murdered the TBAS man, good job thanks for sharing!
