  1. I've seen different units advertise different maximums for TFCS--some say no more than 5 years and some say no more than 8 years. Does anyone know if there is one correct answer and what publication I could find it in? On a similar note, if anyone has ever successfully had a TFCS waiver approved, I would be grateful if someone could DM me the template. TIA
  2. Anyone hear back from the 104th FS in MD? The announcement said we should have heard back by the 14th Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  3. That's a good idea--thanks for the input. Will definitely reach out to them.
  4. Sorry, I should have been more specific. The guidance says "Prior Service commissioned officers or currently serving commissioned officers assigned to a Sister Service" are ineligible. Since it specifies "sister service" I would have thought that an AFR officer would be eligible as the AFR is not a sister service.
  5. I wish I could but I'm not eligible since I already hold a commission. The RegAf's accession guidance explicitly states that current and former officers are ineligible, so even if I were to resign my commission I wouldn't be eligible. Hence why I'm considering the workaround of entering the AFR first.
  6. To clarify, I was referring to executing an IST to the AFR as a non rated officer and applying to AD UPT from there. I understand I would need to find a sponsoring squadron if I wanted to go rated, but I don't believe that's the case with non-rated. As for getting an approved conditional release from my current branch, that would be fairly easy.
  7. Here's my situation: I'm currently ineligible to apply to AD UPT because I was previously an officer in a different branch and still hold a commission in the IRR. However, I have spoken with an AFR officer recruiter and have confirmed it would be possible for me to execute an inter service transfer to the AFR. Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to apply to AD UPT as an AFR officer? Another thing to consider is I would incur a 3 year obligation in the AFR and would need an approved conditional release to apply for AD UPT. The recruiter said these are almost always approved but I am naturally skeptical. Appreciate any insight others may have. EDIT: Just had an AD recruiter tell me this would require an IST. The AFPC website that describes ISTs says it's a program that allows "currently commissioned officers from other uniformed services to apply for transfer." Is the AFR really considered a different uniformed service than the ADAF for the purposes of an IST? I'm skeptical.
  8. Is anyone else visiting the 194th this weekend?
  9. I was told they are not currently authorized but was told to check back in January.
  10. The POC did state during one of the zoom calls that we can start sending in applications; no need to wait until November.
  11. They are for UPT. If you reach out to the POC he will send you the info.
  12. I was on the one on the 8th. Everything was pretty boilerplate. Everyone had a chance to ask questions. Let me know if you have any specific questions about what was covered.
  13. If you already swore in, they own you. Explain the situation to them ASAP. They might decide to release you and hire an alternate. They might say no. Since you already swore in, the decision is their's. Best thing you can do is let them know immediately so that if they do decide to release you they don't waste anymore of their time and resources onboarding you.
  14. In typical military fashion, I was just informed by the POC that the board is back on. Deadline is still 31 October. Again, feel free to PM me if you need the PDFs. Good luck to everyone!
  15. The POC told me yesterday that the board has been pushed to the right. "Most likely January." I downloaded the PDFs. Feel free to PM me and I can email them.
  16. Yes, FE Warren is still doing tests. That's a haul from Austin so I would call around to closer bases first.
