  1. The parallels between the two courses of these two wars is truly remarkable, the key difference being that the Finns were utterly lacking in international support of the material variety. Ultimately, Finland agreed to a negotiated peace in which they ceded more territory to the USSR than the Soviets had initially demanded. Despite this, history remembers the Winter War as a "win" for Finland; the Soviets suffered lopsided casualties and considerable damage to their international prestige, while the Finn's maintained sovereignty and boosted their own reputation. Is it realistic to expect a better outcome for Ukraine today?
  2. AFI 16-1301 is the governing instruction, and for whatever reason, it has a specific carve out for USN/USMC refugees: 2.2.4.1.2. S-V80-A may not be waived for cross-Service personnel who have completed US Navy East (FASOTRAGULANT-Brunswick) Level C or USN West (FASOTRAGUPAC-Coronado) Level C. Don't ask me why...
  3. 4. ~20 million allocated between 5 companies for armed overwatch prototypes. Some familiar faces and some I had not heard of before. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2021/05/17/these-are-5-planes-vying-be-afsocs-new-armed-overwatch-aircraft.html
  5. Prior service USMC applying to ANG/Reserve boards, and I am now trying to determine the most equivalent document(s) for the USAF Report on Individual Personnel (RIP). Would anyone mind giving me a quick overview of what information is captured in a RIP? Bonus points if someone who speaks Marine and can translate. Thanks. S/F
