Good on you bro! You may actually learn something to benefit you for 1 above too. The percentages look terrible but I somehow made it 1 Above by having some stronger words in my bottom line. I didnt realize how poorly I'd written my own PRF and nobody in my chain took the time to change a single word of it. So basically my draft met the board last year.

I was told in my non select counseling (2018 board non select IPZ) that as long as the duty title itself says the level (Wg/Gp etc) then what the surf says doesn't matter. Definitely request the feedback.

I had to do the same but it was because the Wing IG position wasn't a flying position number so I had to stay on the squadron books otherwise I wasn't authorized to fly, get gates or flight pay.

Not entirely correct. 10 records total...5 above and 5 below...needs to beat out all 5 below the cut or any 1 record above the cut. Much higher chance of promotion from a special selection board than above the zone!

BPZs compete in a different pool...ipz/apz compete together.

It just means that He or She is currently at an in-residence IDE program right now and the "P" was most likely a "if I had one more DP to give" Super P

AFPC feedback was surprisingly helpful. It was a Lt Col who was the head of promotions, he went over all of the board instructions and then he went through some stuff in my record that stood out to him that wasn't in my prf that he thought should have been and just some writing techniques to strengthen the PRF. And we discussed SSB procedures to see if I could qualify. Ultimately he told me that my record was stronger than people who got promoted but my PRF didn't reflect that and that the board may have read something into it. My Rater and Senior Rater feedback was worthless. My SR in my feedback when I asked why I didn't earn a DP said "don't worry, you have a great record, you will get promoted " my rater only said that I was his #1 and our pool must have been competitive.

So sorry bro! This was me last year although I didn't see it coming at all! I spent about 6 months stuck between denial and anger, got scrolled, started taking to some reserve units and have a few backup plans in place for my 98% chance at getting passed over APZ. (Still waiting to hear anything official) I highly recommend scheduling feedback counseling with AFPC once you get your non select letter, it gave me some pointers for this year as well as a little closure. Hang in there

If my CC has it then he has a great poker face. I had assumed good news would come before the long weekend and bad news after but they legitimately might not know anything yet.

Usually same day as public release or maybe the day after. I'm curious too, last year's board was a disaster!
