Received an MFS RIP for 29 Feb (can't attend due to being on OCONUS leave though) this morning. Also received PCS RIP for Sheppard for 8 July. Wayyyy sooner than I had expected for an ENJJPT slot but very excited! Probably expecting an August-ish class start date from what I've been hearing from others that are there.

I thought everyone had to go to wright pat to finalize the FC1 unless you already went previously. I never went when I got picked for RPAs a few years ago and my new physical says cleared FC1 pending successful completion of MFS

Does anybody know the process on how drops/airframe assignment actually function? What I mean is: when I went to Intel Officer school we were handed a sheet about halfway through that had all of the available assignments for our class specifically and then we picked our top choices, instructors racked and stacked based on grades yada yada and you got first, second, third choice etc. Is the same similar for drop night? At some point is your class given a list of “hey, these airframes are what we’re trying to fill from this class, rack and stack your preferences from it” and then your ranking in the class starts to determine what you actually get or does everybody just build their dream sheet regardless of whether that airframe is even a possibility/available for that drop.

Curious if the VML process and deconfliction has anything to do with the delay. I’m on the VML and potentially up for a PCS and the release date for that is projected as 31 Jan. I’m sure there are others that applied in a similar situation.

I was picked up in last years board and I’m still stationed at Elmendorf. Never been contacted about curtailing DEROS up to this point, but I’m URT and am TDY for all my training. Might change once I finally PCS mid next year which will be about 6 months before my DEROS.

Interesting that you have to go to MFS at all. I never had to go, but I also only had FC1/A instead of full FC1. And yes it sounded like they were sending questionnaires asking for base preference (which is basically platform preference) to the OTS folks before they Maxwell. The class ranking system should still be the case for the majority of us since however many hundreds of casuals at Randolph shouldn’t know what they’ve got either. One interesting thing I did find out at IFT was that some people are now going to Pilot Training Next instead of RIQ. Instead of T6 sims they’ll do actual C172 flying and get PPL finished. Another way they’re trying to alleviate the backlog.

I got picked up for URT last year. Got my initial RIP for IFT in February with class dates of October, then in July got a new RIP that moved my IFT date up to August. I just finished IFT about a month ago. Currently waiting for RIQ which starts in January for me. I got the RIP for RIQ in August I believe. The major holdup is RIQ. It’s to the point that they have more casuals than they can handle and new OTS/academy grads in 18X are getting PCSd straight to a duty station and already assigned an airframe. I was one of the very few in Pueblo that didn’t already know which RPA I’ll be flying.

Just checked my CDB again this afternoon and finally saw what should be IFT (RPA select) dates in there. The course code is UP2AA and the dates I've got are 23 Oct - 18 Dec. Hasn't reflected in my SURF yet though.
