  1. I was at the most recent board in Vermont and they mentioned they only hire every two years. So probably not this year, unless things have changed.
  2. I PMed the pilot who posted on Reddit a few weeks ago and they said they're doing visits in March when they return from deployment. Been quiet for a while though, I imagine they're incredibly busy right now.
  3. Don't forget Fresno, California. Gonna try to drop by sometime before the board...we'll see. I've heard it was a pretty exclusive squadron but I definitely intend to visit to see what's up. Also if anyone's heading out to New Orleans for January Drill, let me know!
  4. Really dude? You're trying to get into an hyper-competitive job, had an actual Air Force pilot write out a detailed game plan of how to approach the situation, and this is your answer? Frankly, as someone who's competing against you, I'd be pleased if more of the competition had this attitude. I'd get more interview invites, for one. I know it's difficult. Maybe you're just venting to us, but I don't think this is the place for that.
  5. Yeah, I've been really careful in my e-mails to make my intentions clear, maybe that's the difference? All joking aside, @Flying Pillows I'll PM you, willing to share what I can with a fellow hopeful. Were you able to visit? I figure showing up is what made the difference for me.
  6. Invite for me, wasn't able to see any other applicants in the same e-mail.
  7. Notifications from Tulsa just went out this morning via e-mail. Congrats to those selected, see you there!
  8. Currently going through AF Reserve and applying to ANG Units, just seeing which one pops up an opportunity first. Since I have time, I'm giving Fighters a shot, but won't say no to a UPT slot. Just started applying to a few boards, no bites yet. Gonna try to visit a couple units in 2019 to improve my chances, since to me it seems pretty mandatory to be considered. Maybe I'll run into you while visiting a unit?
  9. Oct 13 -14, same as Tulsa. Hear there's going to be a lot of applicants at both!
  10. Based on my experience thus far in the recruiting process, a lot of Heavy units can't get enough candidates, much less those with credentials like yourself! My recruiter was telling me a lot of good news on the Reserve side in regards to heavy squadrons, being younger than you and with slightly better scores, so with your extra credentials and flight experience I feel you'd be a shoe in. You should easily get a slot if you just head down to a few squadrons and meet them, and it should be pretty simple for you to go either ANG or Reserve Sponsored and grab a waiver. Good luck!
  11. Just give it until the weekend. I'm sure they'll send out notifications to everyone around the same time, they've been exceptionally communicative thus far. I'll be spending my time polishing up my app to Alabama in the meantime, no sense in worrying about what I can't control after all!
