  1. Another thing to consider could be going to community college for the first two years. It will save you huge amounts of money, and I think Embry Riddle accepts transfer students so you could still end up there. The money you save by going to CC could be used on your flight training. 2. I know this is late, but how did it go? Any update? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  3. If you failed because of an issue that was 100% out of your control (weather, maintenance, etc) then you could try to get the college to remove it from your transcripts. If not, just explain the case. It will probably look bad at first glance, but if you have a good explanation it should buff out. Just my $0.02 Sent from my iPad using Baseops Network mobile app
  4. Good to know. What if you applied for a UPT board and instead only got into URT. Would denying that still hurt your chances for applying to UPT again? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  5. If you get accepted into UPT can you turn it down and go guard? Will that burn any bridges? I know if you get accepted for a UPT, it is impossible to get in a second time if you decline your first offer. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  6. If someone who is AD where to complete flight school and become trained in their new air frame, what is the chance that they would stay in a flying job for the remainder of their career? Does the AF often reassign pilots to non-flying jobs? Or do pilots have high job security (I.e. they get to stay flying if they want to)?
  7. I’m curious to know how the “community” or “brotherhood” of pilots compares in Active Duty to ANG/AFR. I’ve heard that the pilots in AD fighter squadrons are a very close knit community, and I am wondering if the same is true for reservists / part timers? I have some buddies who are SEALs or Marines and they treat each other like family. Is this also a trend in the pilot community? Sent from my iPad using Baseops Network mobile app

  9. Hopefully someone can answer this here. How does the difficulty of the academic portion of UPT compare to a competitive college major? For example, how does it compare in difficulty to an engineering major at Berkeley or MIT or Stanford or some other school? Also, most people here are saying that UPT students should enjoy their weekends. Is there not work to study over the weekend?
