I’m looking into my options for my 3rd assignment. I’m currently a C-17 pilot with air drop experience at Elmo and Charleston. I’m looking into life as an AMLO. Does anyone have a list of available locations for AMLO or any AMLO experience that they’d like to share? Thanks!

I’d like to know more about it. I’m a C-17 pilot, and I just learned about CRWs. Sounds like a cool gig, even though it takes you out of the jet for a tour. Anyone have experience in a CRW and able to give a rundown on what I’d be doing day to day, ops tempo, is it worth it, etc?

I'm at Altus right now and am promoting soon. Does anyone recommend a place in town to get ranks sewn on?

To the guys in the heavy community, I just dropped C-17s, but, although I'm super excited for it, always wanted to go AFSOC. How common is it to move from AMC to AFSOC after your first assignment? Can anyone provide any guidance on how to go about this?

Anyone know if you can transfer from airframe to airframe in the helo community after your first assignment out of Rucker? UH-1 to HH-60, etc? Honestly my only deterrence from tracking helos is the chance of spending my time in Hueys. If you disagree with my view, please convince me otherwise.

Hopefully I can spark a thread revival. I track in 2 weeks, and I'm still racking my brain on whether or not to go helos. My number 1 choice right now would be Pavehawks. Does anyone have any info on the lifestyle of HH-60s, UH-1s, or CV-22s? There's a lot of great info on this thread, but some of it I'm sure is outdated. How are deployments for the Pavehawk? I've heard it's a lot of sitting around, waiting for the call, which are few and far between these days, is that still true? My last question is how difficult is it to transition from the Huey to the Pavehawk or Osprey if I had the desire to do so? This thread says and what I've heard is that it's not uncommon, just wanted inside perspective/confirmation on that. Thanks!

Are there any other HH-60 pilots that would care to contribute? The one that did above on page 3 seemed kind of half assed. I'm interested in maybe tracking helos, so more info from a Pavehawk pilot would be real helpful.
