  1. Literally had my interview and selected in September, MEPS and my first class physical in November and then OTS/TFOT in March! Really depends though, I know a guy who waited 2 years to even get his first class physical!
  2. I also know someone who did this too, except he was a prior and was currently working at the unit he would be flying with, so maybe they had a bit more trust in his physical. But I said the same thing, why send him to OTS before the FC1 if he could possibly fail it.
  3. Yes! I started going to drill right away. Make sure you get in contact/set up with student flight and then talk to your pilot POC and ask about who you should report to on drill weekends. My unit had me check in with student flight and then I went straight to ops and was with the pilots/ops support group when the pilots were in meetings/sent out on errands (aka get beer/alcohol/food)
  4. Damn man, sorry to hear that happened. Maybe at MEPS before the ASVAB starts just ask if you're supposed to be there or not? The night before you will have people in charge of you at the hotel and you can confirm if you have to take it or not. I'd bring the grades/official print out with you to MEPS for proof
  5. This is true, OP could also say he spoke to other non-prior UPT selects and ask the recruiter to double check on that info since we haven't done it. OP could also contact MEPS if they really wanted to know OR ask one of the pilots what they think, casually bring it up like "oh did you have to take the ASVAB at MEPS? I thought the AFOQT had the same status as the ASVAB?" Sometimes acting like you don't know can really help in cases like this
  6. Did not take it since already taken AFOQT. Perhaps ask him to double check since you're the one random UPT person that occurs once/twice a year and everything is different for us, especially as a non-prior
  7. It's a requirement to fill out all the questions for form SF-86 before you even leave for OTS as it's usually on the outprocessing doc. You'll eventually be cleared 1-2 years later is what I've been hearing!
  8. I didn't even get the option to choose, one day got the dates with the spot, that was that!
  9. I was interviewed and hired in September 2017, I got my ots and upt dates in January and I'm non-prior. I think it really depends on your unit and how on top they are of things.
  10. I'm 18-05! And I was told it got sent out the first full week of January and I found out that same week my dates for TFOT. Then a couple days later got all my training dates for flying!
  11. Also non prior/no waivers, I got hired in September 2017, found out about OTS (TFOT) first week of January!
  12. I've heard it's a combo of having at least the PPL, a certain number of hours, and the last time you flew.
  13. Thanks for answering all my questions! Sounds like I'm doing good so far! I was a couple pounds over for my height, far from 245 lbs! Thank you again, hopefully it all continues to go at a good pace.
  14. Guard/Non-prior, I feel my dates have been a lot quicker than everyone so far: Interview: September 2017 Hired: September 2017 MEPS: November 2017 FC1: November 2017 Waiting on OTS dates now. Is it typical that my package gets sent after my FC1 is cleared or is the package sent without the FC1 information? Also, I assume that if we failed any part of the FC1, we'd know about it within a few days of the physical rather than months after? Lastly, I was a couple pounds over for the FC1, will the AGB see that as an issue? Obviously I'll be the correct weight before OTS and was for MEPS, but Thanksgiving happened.
  15. I have a few interviews coming up and was wondering if anyone could provide some advice on a closing statement (is it recommended? Just summarize what I've already said?) and if there's any questions I should make sure to ask? Is it ok to ask if I fit into what they're looking for? Thanks in advance!
