  1. I was told I needed to wait until I had completed the pipeline (while others at Altus were getting it), and now that I'm done they are saying NGB has halted the bonus. Does anyone have any info on why or for how long?
  2. In my opinion, as long as you meet all the minimum requirements and don't have any waivers that need approval/disapproval then you should be good to go (after the waiting game of course). Your recruiter should be able to give you a more complete answer as they have seen your package.
  3. Lots of good info on this thread. I'm looking for some updated info on what we are "expected" to know when we arrive for UPT. Should we already have the boldface/ops limits down cold? T-6 systems knowledge, etc... If so, how do we know we have the most up-to-date information? I'll be heading to Laughlin and my Unit (guard) doesn't have anyone down there and we haven't sent anyone there in years. Thanks in advance and feel free to add anything else applicable to this thread.
  4. It seems like the standard wait time is about 3 months. My group must have got hired at the right time, as all three of us (all prior service) had ours within 2 months of getting hired. And to clarify why my UPT date is relatively quick is because that's the only date that was needed after the FC-1. I'm already commissioned with a PPL, so TFOT/IFS exempt.
  5. Guard/Prior Interviewed/hired: May 17 FC-1: June 17 Package sent to NGB: June 17 Approved by NGB: Aug 17 UPT: Nov 17 (Laughlin)
  6. Is there a monthly "rent" for living in the UOQs in your situation, or you don't pay a dime and still get BAH? That sounds too good to be true haha. Yes, I understand you are still paying for your HOR but the AF usually doesn't care.
  7. Your AFOQT and, most likely TBAS, scores are good. Good scores will not be the reason you get hired by a guard unit. They won't hurt, but I got picked up with scores WAY lower than those. It hurts that you aren't already in the Guard, but dudes get picked up off the streets all the time. The #1 thing you need to do is VISIT squadrons that you are interested in. Get to know people and let them get to know the real you and why you want to be there. If you don't visit, you will be fighting an uphill battle.
  8. I'm kind of in the same boat and my spouse will be staying at our current home. I need to try and save as much money as possible so I really don't want to use my whole BAH to live in a dorm... Does anyone have any recent experience on what is allowed or not? My current plan is to buy an RV and find an RV park close to base.
