  4. I used the search function and came up empty handed The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is probably the most popular personality test in use, and I've heard that they used to give it to pilots in the navy. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the guys on here have heard of it. The test indicates how you use your mind based on 4 scales: Favorite world: Do you prefer to focus on the outer world or on your own inner world? This is called Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I). Information: Do you prefer to focus on the basic information you take in or do you prefer to interpret and add meaning? This is called Sensing (S) or Intuition (N). Decisions: When making decisions, do you prefer to first look at logic and consistency or first look at the people and special circumstances? This is called Thinking (T) or Feeling (F). Structure: In dealing with the outside world, do you prefer to get things decided or do you prefer to stay open to new information and options? This is called Judging (J) or Perceiving (P). (http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/home.htm?bhcp=1) I'm curious about what kind of people enjoy their time in the military aviation world. This is perhaps the most widely used personality typing test and is something I've been interested quite a while. There are heaps of MBTI-type tests online; this one's good: www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp The test is 64 questions and takes 5 minutes or so. Once you are typed you can follow the link to view a brief description. This isn't meant to put people in boxes or tell people they'll have an easier/harder time in the cockpit based on their type; I'm sure people of any type will make it if they are willing to put forth the work and have the right attitude. I hope this thread will prove useful and you'll find it interesting, at the very least it'll help me understand what goes on in your craniums
