  2. More and more studs want to go the t1 route and are feeling the pressure into going 38s. It varies from class to class but it's an interesting time in the upt pipeline. Where are these studs doing casual before hitting B course?
  3. Anyone have an idea on what's going on with UPT class sizes? I'm starting training at VN soon and my class size just jumped overnight into the 30s. I've never seen a class of this size, that I can recall. Also, what's the deal with 38s is afpc allowing more studs to go 38s or is it promises like RPAs won't drop in the fy17 classes?
  4. I'm at OTS right now and have orders to Vance in early January for UPT. Does anyone have advice on housing? Based on the market I'm thinking about buying, are there any areas to stay away from? Also, those who have stayed on base, good/bad experiences? Any advice is appreciated.
  5. Forgive my ignorance, I'm an ad pilot select and going to ots in a few weeks. How many rotorwing slots are needed annually/per track select? Also, is the osprey bro-hood pretty tight knit or eat your own society? The rotor wing side intrigues me that's why I ask. A little background about myself: I'm a commercial civilian fixed winged pilot (crop duster) and would like to be in the air on the military side and not a drone if avoidable, but I will take what I'm assigned.
  6. I attended Utah Valley University online as well and graduated last August. I earned an associated degree and pilot ratings in my home town while working and continued to work while attending this online program. I think it's a good program I learned plenty, online programs require self discipline more than a traditional setting. I've been a profession pilot since 2011 and I wouldn't have been able to complete my BS as quickly in a traditional setting plus my flying work schedule is always changing so I thought I'd never complete it. One piece of advise if you go with this program: be very close to finishing or finished with a certificate/rating before taking the class. I saw a few people having to retake classes to finish because they didn't get their check ride done in time. Also, yes it is a real school and is recognized by the Air Force. I went on plenty of upt guard interviews and finally am going Active Duty after being accepted as a pilot on the 15ot01 board. Off to OTS in October!
  7. dvlax40: I'm confused on the whole process and as I'm hearing now my physical "track" might be much different than others I have read about. In the end I just want to make sure that I am only going in as a pilot selectee and I won't get screwed over (I haven't felt like my recruiter is trying to screw me over at any point) but I just want to be sure my contract is intact. I also don't want to be held up for reasons other than my own. I apologize if I come across as a doucher,I may have had a few cocktails. Thanks for the help!
  8. Civilian pilot select here from the recent board 15ot01. I met with my recruiter yesterday to get medical docs finished and talk about the upcoming process. To make a long story short: he said that I have to swear in after my MEPS physical and that I can get my flight physical (FC1) at Travis AFB. Has anyone done or heard of this?
  9. Civilian pilot select here, congrats to you both as well. Any of you all have any information on af pilot future need (I hear fighters?) and upt base selection process? Also, is there much need to prepare for ots?
  10. I got an interview. Did anyone else get a phone call?
  11. My recruiter had a similar comment... guess we'll find out February 19th. To stay somewhat on topic for this forum, I applied to the 124th and they have my packet also. Are any of you applying to the 303 FS reserve unit?
  12. Did anyone apply to 175TH wing MD ANG (A-10 slot) board and if so have you heard anything? I'm new to the application process, it was my first packet that I've sent off.
