  1. @FLY6584 take a look at permissive tdy rule 15. I have heard people being approved for that. Also, according to a c17 guy who is outprocessing under vsp, he can only take 60 days of terminal, so he's burning through some leave now instead of being able to take it in one big chunk.
  2. Is an ADSC that is going to be recouped from the member like tuition assistance going to be a discriminator? I mean, wouldn't the Air Force want to get rid of the kid who has to pay back a portion of that stupid TUI degree vs. a guy who is free and clear from his AMU degree ADSC? It almost makes more sense to find the guys with ADSCs that have to be paid back and get rid of them first because big blue would have to pay them a few grand less.
  3. If I were them I wouldn't have gotten them ready either... Just like we didn't have to prep our RRF packages until after we knew we would be vulnerable for RIF. Oh wait.
  4. Anyone know the date that PSDM 13-130 was rescinded? I ask because in that original PSDM where it talked about separations whether voluntary or involuntary, it said that the GI Bill transfer ADSC and the education assistance funds ADSC would be considered fullfilled if approved for separation (attachment 1 paragraphs 11 and 12 I think). Now we've got a new ADSC waivers table that is saying that if you haven't fulfilled the GI Bill transfer ADSC, you can't transfer it anymore (Note 3). It also says it'll recoup tuition assistance, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to the transfer benefit which could be worth more than the VSP payout. For example if junior goes to school in NYC, the housing alone would get you close to $150K with today's numbers.
  5. Would be funny if their interpretation of eligible for voluntary separation as everyone was eligible, but we were only going to approve 1. Now that's an April fool's joke. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  6. I know I'm going to catch a lot of crap for this, but in a way this is what the big wigs are doing. They're ensuring that they can execute the mission and keep people safe in the jets and on the ground while letting a bunch of experience leave. Should they have figured this all out before offering it up? Yes. Was this their own fault? Yes. Is it strange that they couldn't see this coming? Yes (lot of good those climate surveys are doing). Am I pissed I got rejected for VSP? Yes. If they force me to stay in and I end up gassing up a fighter that blows up Kim Jong Il, will I be glad they forced me to stay? Probably. I'm just guessing, but I'd say that some of the delay is probably trying to figure out how to get more of us to Palace Chase. They probably should have had a Palace Chase window open first and then a VSP window, but it's too late now.
  7. I asked for 2 years and 4 months get waived and that got rejected about a week ago.
