  1. Thread revival, has anyone from the guard had any luck converting their UPT orders from title 32 to title 10? I went to UPT from Feb 08 to Mar 09 which is right after the reduced retirement rules went into effect. However, I'm not sure when they started sending people from the Guard to UPT in title 10 status. I've heard of some success but based on past experience with people on my base, I'm sure it's going to be a battle.
  2. Getting it right? Where was the oversight DURING the construction?? I've built several houses and did my own electrical in each one, and not 1 piece of drywall ever went up before an inspector verified everything in the wall was up to code. Big Blue messed up big time here! Blame the contractors all you want, but it was our lack oversight that created this mess!
  3. Latest word from doods who just got back from the Deid claim they are razing the Double Stack chicken shacks because it is cheaper to rebuild than to fix the wiring problems. In a sane world, I find this hard to believe, but it is the new AF and even worse, the AF at the Deid so I guess I'm not shocked if true.
  4. Looks like the new dorms at the Deid are open http://www.afcent.af.mil/Units/379thAirExpeditionaryWing/News/Display/tabid/298/Article/583408/bpc-phase-ii-dorm-facilities-open.aspx Only took like 3 years, so does this mean the CC is closed, or are they still going to use them for tanker dudes? Anyone there with insight?
  5. The school must be part 141 and certified by the VA. I recently had an instance where I went to a flight school that had just gotten it's part 141 certification and was claiming you could use VA education benefits, however they had not filed for certification by the state VA. If the flight school is certified by the VA, they should have all the necessary paperwork you need to submit. The Montgomery G.I. Bill will pay up to 60% of your flight cost. I'm not sure how they figure out the post-9/11 G.I. Bill but I know guys who were going to higher power were charged about 10 months worth of benefits. I opted to transfer my post-9/11 benefits to my wife Who is in grad school because it maximized our benefits much greater than if I had used it at a flight school. So keep that in mind in case you have somebody who could benefit from the post 9/11.
  6. How does restriction get lifted once you reach 1500? Is it as easy as a trip to the local FSDO office?
