  1. Who in the gov't is asking for amnesty? All I can find is this opinion piece in The Atlantic. It's written by an economics professor.
  2. Which religion should the government embrace?
  3. Matt Hering & NBKC -- Still Rocking It! In 2016 I read a recommendation for Matt Hering & NBKC. We worked with him for VA loan then. Now in 2021, I worked with him on a Conventional loan and he was just as good. I needed a pre-approval on a weekend this past fall. Within an hour of submitting the app, he had the pre-approval done. I can't recommend him enough. Consider giving him a shout. His email is matt.hering@nbkc.com.

  5. Nunya, you captured our frustration extremely well. I agree, the video resonated with me and why I joined. Unfortunately, my last few years on AD weren’t like the video. They’re exactly as you described. So I quit.
  6. Thread bump. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/06/18/trump-orders-establishment-space-force-as-6th-branch-military.html
  7. According to this article, the primary reason for the change in promotion opportunity was to boost LAF FGO manning. It also had the secondary effects of “reinforcing trust and confidence in squadron leadership” and “reducing administrative burdens on squadron commanders.” So this *was* an attempt to empower commanders. As far as the mess up, I’d say it lies with the authority who decided to scrub the records at the HAF. Unless SRs neglected to submit a PRF for individuals with an “Article 15, court-martial, referral report, or letter of reprimand,” I think the scrub was unnecessary. Even if they had neglected to submit such PRFs, the scrub was probably unnecessary. I haven’t heard of anyone rescrubbing the records of LTs promoting to Captain. I’m sure some SRs neglect to submit PRFs for them when they have negative indicators. Why don’t they rescrub those records? Is it because a Major has more authority? Maybe. Maybe the original reason for the change is no longer a problem? If FGO manning is now healthy, maybe the bosses decided they wanted to execute the old way. In the end, nobody knows the specifics on why the release got delayed. Hopefully leadership steps up and tells everyone why.
  8. Sure is. I saw a similar post on FB that wasn't on .mil and I confused the two. My mistake.
  9. Until I see it from a .mil website, I remain skeptical.
  10. I could be wrong, but I think "100% Promotion Opportunity" is how we promote 1st Lieutenants and Captains. In other words, the board meets only to review the records of those who might not be "Fully Qualified"--meaning those who have received a DNP or have a UIF. When everyone meets the board, they're only promoting those who are "Best Qualified." Bottom line, unless I'm wrong, this means that unless you receive a DNP or have a UIF (or some other unfavorable report), you won't even meet the board--you're promoted.

  12. You'll want that done. Most units like to hire folks whose records can at least promote to major. Without PDE, you'll be virtually unable to promote. Caveat: I'm active duty. I know folks on the reserve/guard side and this is what I've heard from them.
