  1. I would like to know that too. Also did everyone twice passed over to Major get offered continuation? The one guy in my Wing did, so no separation pay for him.
  2. Yes. In fact from what I remember it was easier to get one after a year of being a good cadet, keeping up your grades, taking leadership roles in the wing etc.
  3. Nothing directly, however you will compete a year after your peers who are doing 4-year degrees, IIRC. So instead of Year 3, you would get your slot in Year 4.
  4. I got one question about my masters at my civilian interview. I explained it that although he hadn't heard of the school, I felt the program was good and I learned a lot. Then I mentioned I wanted to save my MBA for a brick and mortar school in the future and it obviously was good enough to get the job.
  5. But did they have Butter's magnetic personality? God knows we love you Butters.
  6. University of Management and Technology. Completely worthless degree with a high school level effort.
  7. I will be pressing to test next year if my subsequent Palace Chase apps get turned down. The failing pt tests, although expedient, wouldn't sit right on my conscience.
  8. Wow. This is the reason I come here. Thanks Chida!
  9. Agreed. However, a lot of guys I know aren't looking for the airline gig. But rather just want to live a more stable life for their familia.
  10. Holy shit you two. Seriously. I am not complaining about the contract or the length of time. What pisses me off however is that some of us were told "plan to not have a job" and when things started working out for us in the civilian world the Air Force said "Kidding!" What I don't want is to burn this bridge for what would ultimately be a much better life for my family. If you don't get that then maybe you and the Air Force deserve each other. Bottom line, the way this whole VSP/RIF debacle was what I was complaining about. And btw I am not going to start failing PT tests to get out. I still desire to serve in the Guard after I am out. Looking forward to your guys next worthless replies
  11. "Get to stay" makes it seem like I have a choice. Not surprised you're confused though. What was your background again?
  12. Easy solution. Approve Palace Chase Apps with 3 years left on AD, thus getting a guy 6 years in the guard/reserve. Not all the dudes I talk to want to go to airlines, some just want to work for a place that isn't out to screw them every chance they get in the name of making rank.
  13. We just had a guy twice passes over 11F who was offered continuation. He denied it and is separating almost a year earlier than his UPT ADSC. I am wondering if denying a promotion is treated the same or if they make you stay till the bitter end of your UPT ADSC. Not that it matters, but for me I was happily serving until I was called in and told by my Commander that my career field and year group was overmanned back in 2014 and I should be prepared for the possibility of not having a job in the Air Force from the RIF. I took a long shot and applied for a job making around $200k a year and after almost a year and a half of interviews, was offered the gig. By this time the Air Force has decided that I am vital to the organization, finishes the VSP/RIF option in 1 year versus the 5 authorized by congress and subsequently denies my Palace Chase and Hardship Applications. Just a little background for those wondering why I have so much hatred for Big Blue. Anyone know of any other options I have to free myself ?
  14. Chida or Jaded... Which one is correct or both? Do you live out the rest of your ADSC or separated immediately after second board as if you were passed over twice?
  15. So I know if you get passed over twice you can separate almost immediately but what about if you are offered promotion and turn it down?
  16. Yeah. It isn't written anywhere that they need that stuff however they instantly reject it if it isn't there. I always call the PC office to make sure they have all the right documents. They can't really do much more for you than that though.
  17. Active Duty question here. I was referred to an allergist over 2 hours away due to the town the base is in having none. Is there something about getting milage reimbursed for my weekly shot appointments? Thanks Bros.
  18. Awesome Dan! I worked with Dave Devine almost 3 years ago and hopefully will be back to buy another house in a year, once Big Blue realizes what a non-team playing dirtbag I am and let's me go! I know it is said time and time again in here, and with good reason, these guys do a phenomenal job.
  19. I think it is because they are tired of getting embarrassed when their Golden Children Selects turn down school and then promptly separate.
  20. I agree with that. As a ROTC guy I got the pleasure of spending a week there for some leadership conference. It was terrible, I couldn't wait to get back to my coed dorm with half naked chicks walking through the halls.
  21. Okay that's what I read too. Meaning if you had a P you only had a 28% chance at promotion. We may have done well with O-4s but we sucked at the O-5 board and I don't see it getting any better..
  22. Those numbers aren't jiving. We had 100% out of around 12-15 eligible a IPZ and one pass over who requested it to the board.
  23. Reminds me of something a buddy heard from a GO once... http://www.af.mil/AboutUs/Biographies/Display/tabid/225/Article/104639/lieutenant-general-robert-r-allardice.aspx Yeah, that guy. I heard that worthless mouth breather say the same thing when asked about what was gonna happen when dudes start leaving in droves for the airlines, Wal-mart or just the unemployment line.
