  1. I love that people have this idea that if we stop giving weapons (not pallets of cash) to Ukraine, that the government will magically fix the issues at home.

They didn't use that money to fix those issues over the last 30 years. Didn't fix them pre-9/11 with the Peace Dividend. Didn't fix them between the time we left Afghanistan and the time Russia invaded Ukraine. Not sure why folks are so confident they'll suddenly dedicate those resources to the things you care about once the Ukraine situation is resolved, one way or the other.

SHED has been making trouble for years—here’s his squadron-wide email that went viral in 2014:

That's definitely the email of a person who would threaten an airline pilot if they didn't do what he asked.

I'd start pumping propane (heavier than air) into the tunnels followed by a Zippo. Not that there aren't enough ignition sources already there.

We probably still have some of those flamethrowers from Vietnam we could loan them.

The Senate Armed Services Committee has approximately 50,000 nominations to review and confirm each year. If the Senate works six days a week, year round, twelve hour days, they will have approximately 4.6 minutes per nominee to review and vote. Given that a lone holdout can still force a roll call vote that will take far longer than 5 minutes, you will effectively accomplish nothing. The system is designed so that most people get blanket approved, but there is ample opportunity for serious discussion if there is any Senator who feels there's a need for it.

It's a super common misconception that Congress is only working when it's in session - there's a lot more going on behind the scenes.

Best get started then. Or we're going to have 50,000 vacancies a year.

So a self proclaimed leftist, who originally said that what we were seeing at the colleges was from extremely small groups, but being hyped up by the conservative media, is now saying that the leftists supporting Hamas is a problem…at the universities ran by leftists who are largely supporting these students…who are getting their disinformation from leftists groups (TikToc or otherwise).  And finally he also supports the government implementing some kind of new regulations to add additional control over the information (I’m sure as long as it’s done by leftists).

Here’s a thought—how about we hold people accountable for their own actions?  If the universities believe these students are exhibiting unacceptable behavior, then kick them out…so let me know when all these students are removed from campuses.

It's going to take a few more millionaire donors pulling their funding like they did at Penn before colleges will be willing to discipline these student groups.

Best advice I ever got was from an American captain at the hotel bar on a nice overnight.

”son go back to your room and strip naked and look at yourself in the mirror. Does she really want that? Or does she want what you can provide?”

never looked at it the same since

Got a similar talk from our Intel officer prior to a Red Flag.

    "If she's a 10 and you're a 5, she wants something costly from you."

little bit of a thread revival.

I was erroneously DQ'd by the MEPS chief medical officer 3 months ago for cuts on my legs (ive never cut myself before), which is ridiculous because everyone has scars on their legs from being active as a kid. i somehow got lucky and was the only one examined by this doctor, and everyone else that had the same cicatrixs' I did were passed through. even my recruiter was appalled by this call. I had to send a few letters and pictures regarding my cuts to the Air Forcer Surgeon General for a waiver, which was denied(?), and my recruiter hit me up a couple days ago saying that they want me to see a psychiatrist for an evaluation.

excuse my French, but *** am I supposed to tell the psychiatrist when theirs literally nothing to be said?

I am sure he's gonna ask about depression etc; to be honest, I was like 2.5 years ago from some dumb breakup, but I never physically hurt myself or wanted to kill myself.

would I be shooting myself in the foot if I told him something like this that has no correlation to my cuts?

Answer exactly the questions asked, don't volunteer additional information.

    "Have you ever been depressed?"

"I have never been diagnosed with depression."

Wonder if he would've had a chance given a little "tactical combat casualty care" at the scene.  Guess we'll never know.....

Or at least called 911 instead of filming their idiocy.

  9. The great sage Adam Carolla had a different take. Basically, you're allowed to have stupid opinions in college, sure. But the types of people who write letters supporting Hamas are also the ones who get mad when you misgender them, who will demand a recognition that the land your building is on used to belong to Native Americans before every speech, who will complain about micro aggressions if there's only dairy milk instead of soy milk in the fridge... it's an entire lifestyle that lends itself to being a huge pain in the ass for their employer. So don't bring those people into your organization.

I think Ackman took things too far. Yea your words have consequences and etc., but man, having a random billionaire ruining your career while you're still on campus is some bullshiite man.

Not that I disagree with him that what a some of the students are saying is completely reprehensible, it is.

But I would also remind Bill that when he was an undergrad on the hallowed Haavad Yaad he was a) likely a huge fucking moron like the vast majority of of us were, b) certainly said many things others would find unacceptably offensive (haven't we all!), and c) didn't have some Reagan-era billionaire going Dick Tracy on his ass trying to ruin his future before he even got off the ground.

I guess forensic speech policing wasn't as easy in 1988 as it is in 2023, but Ackman needs to find other hobbies IMHO.

I think the left has leaned into this canceling people for a long time, so I can't feel too sorry when it's applied to them.

I'm sure these Harvard grads will still get jobs at CNN, MSNBC, NY Times...

Arent Ukrainian Males in forced conscription?  So yeah they kinda are forced to fight.

The war goes back to 2014 with the Maiden uprising.  Losing the pro Russia govt is what pushed Putin. The question is how involved was the US in those uprisings?  State Dept was there.  Not saying this is just cause for Putin but an expansion eastward of Western influence put him in a defensive position.

A question to ask is if/when western support dries up in Ukraine and Russia eventually wins...will that loss of life be worth it for Ukraine?  Did we just help delay the inevitable and cause more death and destruction for a goal of making Putin's military weaker.

I dont think Putin is stupid.  I think a lot of things going on now are all related.

Individual Ukrainians may, in fact, be drafted into service. That's not the point being made. The point being made is that the government of Ukraine could stop fighting at any point. The US and NATO aren't forcing Ukraine to fight, we're enabling a decision  they made for themselves.
