  1. We would be defenseless and overrun by ISIS hordes if it wasn't for Tops in Blue.
  2. Louis Zamperini has died at 97. http://espn.go.com/olympics/story/_/id/11171984/war-hero-olympian-louis-zamperini-dies-97
  3. Now I know where Asiana Airlines gets their pilots.
  4. Stories like this make me shake my head and wonder what is going in this country. Then I see this story about a garbage man that understands what the flag means. And he does the right thing without running to twitter or FB. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2014/02/22/dnt-patriotic-garbage-man-saves-flag.katu.html
  5. Thread bump: Unbroken is coming out as movie around Christmas, this year. Trailer: http://www.runnersworld.com/general-interest/watch-trailer-for-unbroken-released?cm_mmc=Facebook-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-News-_-UnbrokenRelease
  6. From today's New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/28/us/robinson-risner-ace-fighter-pilot-dies-at-88.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20131028
  7. This is terrible. AF leadership should hide their faces in shame. They should have honored these men with a flyby. These men sacrificed everything for this country; they deserve better from AF leadership. Instead, leadership chose to honor money, budget, and politics. A complete disgrace.
  8. "An airman in the US Air Force is facing charges that he made a threat, claiming to have a pressure cooker in his bag, at Logan International Airport, authorities said." http://www.boston.co...cpOM/story.html
  9. I am so angry about the Rolling Stone cover. They are just scum. They make him look like a sweet, lovable, but miss-guided kid. He is a stupid, loser that was too dumb to even understand why he was doing what he did. Total asshat; and Rolling Stone is a bunch of morons that should know better. If Rolling Stone wanted to do any kind of story about the Boston bombings they should have put a picture of Martin Richards, the eight year old, that was killed by this cuddly murders.
  10. As soon as the NTSB intern, Gladys Overnow, confirms it.
  11. Yup. Classics never die. Or the 3 Stooges: Kickham, Harter, and Indagroyne
  12. I heard they retained Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.
  13. How do they know? Did he land short or at the wrong airport? :)
  14. "US Air Force (USAF) veteran Julie Frein said she is willing to give up her burial plot at Arlington National Cemetery to Tamerlan Tsarnaev - the deceased Boston bombing suspect. ..... "I feel sympathy for [his family] in that as long as this issue is open, they can't have closure," AARGHH! What is wrong with this woman. I could give a rat's ass about his family and closure for them. That family will never feel enough pain to match what "speed bump" and "Joker" did to other families at the Boston Marathon. I think they should tie his corpse to buoy in Boston harbor and let the gulls finish him off. http://foxbaltimore.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/usaf-vet-willing-offer-national-cemetery-burial-plot-bombing-suspect-19476.shtml#.UYlv3LA6UzR

  16. Thanks. I didn't get to finish, but, that's ok. The police blocked the streets and wouldn't let anyone near the scene within seconds. The police were urging everyone to go back. My thoughts were to clear the area, get word to my family and find my friends. It was a pretty tense hour or two. I am sad for the people and families that were directly effected by this. The race itself is damaged also. The finish line was great place of joy and celebration for families, friends, and runners. I fear that will be lost with new security requirements. I hope the person or persons that did this rot in hell.
  17. I was there running the race when this happened. I was about 100 yds from the second blast just turning on Boylston St (the finish line). I had three friends that were running ahead of me less than 20' from the blast. They are all fine. I heard the two blasts. I thought two large transformers had exploded. Initially the police on the course had no idea what was happening, but, I could hear there radios chattering like mad. There was lots of confusion but not much panic. People close to the scene jumped in to help. The rest of us just did the best we could to clear the area.
  18. Can he pass a PT test or the waist measurement? That framed ABU shirt looks like a stage tent for Tops in Blue.

  21. "I don't have your cellphone!" "In the past two years the 59-year-old retiree has been pestered by people showing up at all hours of the day and night at his house, demanding their phones. They've yelled, shown him evidence, called the police - sworn that their phone is in his house. But he's no thief." http://www.lvrj.com/news/if-you-lose-your-cellphone-don-t-blame-wayne-dobson-186670171.html Sprint needs to get their act together.

  23. Good thing it landed in that smoking hole, or someone may have gotten hurt.
  24. To Neil. He never let his ego overwhelm his accomplishments. He stayed soft spoken and thanked everyone that helped him get to the moon. From Wired: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/08/badass-spaceflight-history/
  25. You should also read "The Few" by Alex Kershaw. He writes about Billy Fiske and other Americans that went to England to fight in the Battle of Britain.
