  1. Delta you have to stay under $50, which sucks because you can only apply 2 or 3 gift cards when buying a ticket. Southwest is still good at $200. No other airlines are working anymore. I always check flyertalk before setting my airline to see what still works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you’re under 5/24 (5 new cards in the last two years, including being an authorized user) Chase has a lot of good options. Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, and United are all affiliated with Chase, and the Sapphire Reserve and Preferred are good options. Citi also seems to be waiving fees under the MLA, so the citi prestige and AA executive are good options. Barclays does not waive fees, but it’s worth churning their AA cards. Their Wyndham card is a decent value even with paying the annual fee. US bank offers waived fees, and the Radisson card is a good value, especially if you travel to Europe and the Middle East. BofA has a great card if you want to move your brokerage accounts to them. I think you can get something like 2.5% on all spending if your investments with them top 100k. Derpreport is a great website for MLA/SCRA related info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. When he says DO, I’m thinking he means TACC duty officer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The sign up bonus on the Hilton is better, and you can earn a free night after 10k in spend. With the annual fee waiver it’s best to go with cards that provide additional benefits. Amex limits you to 5 credit cards (no limit on charge cards). I have 5 Platinums, the Aspire, Ascend, Delta Reserve, Bonvoy and Bonvoy Business. Between those I end up getting two Hilton nights, two Marriott nights, and a business class companion pass on Delta. The 6% phases out after 6k, so I wouldn’t trade a free night and 36k Hilton points for $360 in cashback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hilton Amex ascend gives 6 Hilton points on gas, groceries, and dining. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. We are talking about Shazaam/Harley Quinn here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I hear it totally makes up for not doing ACSC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Sounds like he deserves at least two 365s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Post when you get passed over for not doing ACSC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. T-6 is dual received or PIC (for solo). Can’t claim SIC since it doesn’t require two pilots to fly. T-1 is SIC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That number isn’t anywhere near accurate, but yes, training an 18x is a lot cheaper than an 11. That’s why we have URT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The hiring board might appreciate the pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If you’re going strictly by the book, PIC=Primary, Secondary, instructor, or evaluator time while holding the A code. I’m guessing most people end up actually claiming a percentage of their primary and secondary since cert, and 100% of their IP and EP time as being PIC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’m tracking it accurately as well, and it worked out to about 73% of hours since cert. That’s probably high compared to most though because a lot of that has been deployed flying with copilots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. No. Technically, for it to count as PIC, you need to carry the A code on the orders. In practice, most people claim a percentage of hours since AC cert (75-90% is typical). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Umm, why during an aircrew retention (no longer a crisis?) wouldn’t they allocate a higher percentage of the selects to critical AFSCs? If the promotion rate for pilots decreases, and increases for other LAF categories, retention will only get worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. So go back to the BDU rank and name tape color scheme. Different than the army, and it would look a lot better than our current scheme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I didn’t even see my PRF until April. Not sure if that’s because I had PCSd and the execs had overlooked sending it to me, or if the entire process was delayed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The report also neglects to consider upgrade costs. You can’t replace a 4-ship lead with an FTU grad, nor a MAF IP with a co-pilot. Both require a significant investment above and beyond UPT and B-course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If you want to be a career pilot, and ANG and the Reserves aren’t for you, than AD AF is probably your best bet. That said, why do you not want to pursue an ANG or Reserves career? Full time, either AGR or ART is an option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. 1 stars have about as much clout at HAF as 2Lts do at the sq level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. What rank do their maintenance, logistics, intel, sf etc officers top out at? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Probably the same way he feels about doctor’s bonuses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yes. The issue is they will cut you a check for the negative balance, so when you make the ATM withdrawal you may have to pay it back. I think they automatically send you a check when you’re past the 60 day mark with a negative balance. Also, it sounds like the OP isn’t, but don’t ever use it for an ATM withdrawal when you’re not on a TDY. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
