  11. The patch shown above has been out since June here at the WS. It was time for an update as the last version had airframes that are no longer around such as the F-117 and added the new Wics such as the F-22 and us fat kids. The Grad patch remains the same...
  12. Yep, we were at Nellis and were told the same thing. The kicker was due to "ACC" rules we were to stay on base because quarters were available and we were only getting partial perdeim. We tried to explain that even though were were a GSU, we all were still part of Nellis and that should give us the lunch time pass to the chow hall. When all was said and done we ate at Popeyes.
  13. I have the blackjack thru T-Mobile and love it. I was an AT&T customer but was not real happy with the customer service. After my contract ended I had AT&T give me the phone unlock codes, put the T-mobile sim card inside and wa-laa I now have my AT&T only smartphone through another carrier.
  14. It seems to be back ordered from every source and by luck I found a copy at a local book store. So far it is one of the best reads I have ever had! Great work on the book, I just can't seem to put it down. It will come in real handy burning holes in the sky during Mission Employment next month!
  15. Not good for the Navy... Bet they were caught at the Deid with out a reflective belt... From the Navy times: NORFOLK, Va. — Two members of the Blue Angels, the Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, have been “removed” from the team due to an alleged inappropriate relationship, a Navy official said Thursday. The two members of the squadron — one of them an aviator — were pulled from the unit by commanding officer and flight leader Capt. Kevin Mannix on Sunday, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity since he was discussing a personnel matter. The names of the people involved were not released. “The team members are alleged to have had an inappropriate relationship,” the official said, who also would not say what genders were involved. “There’s a team of more than a hundred people, male and female.” The official said the two have been removed “pending further review” of the matter by Rear Adm. Mark Guadagnini, chief of naval air training. For the remainder of the season, the team will be flying five jets during its shows rather than the standard six, the official added. According to the Blue Angels’ Web site, the team does not maintain a “spare” pilot who could fill in when another member can’t fly. “With the number of practice hours required to safely fly a demonstration a spare pilot could not be utilized effectively. Each pilot must complete 120 training flights during winter training in order to perform a public demonstration safely,” the Web site states. “The teamwork required for the high speed, low-altitude flying in the tight Blue Angel formation takes hundreds of hours to develop. A substitute pilot would not have enough time in the formation to do this safely.” The season ends Nov. 15 after shows in San Antonio, Kennedy Space Center and Pensacola, Fla. http://www.navytimes.com/news/2008/10/navy...eangels_103008/
  16. I posed the flight school question to the VA and here was the answer I received. Q: Can the new GI Bill be used at the larger accredited Aviation Acadimes throughout North America to obtain airline pilot training? A: It is our understanding that you will be able to use the Post 9/11 GIBILL for flight training. However, it has not been determined as to how the benefit will pay for this training. Thank you for contacting the VA. LM/4351 Muskogee RPO
