  1. Good afternoon,

New here. Was AMO or BP offering to pay for any of a new hire's flight schooling???

This is in reference to beginner level like single engine green...first hours off of a Cessena 172.

Looking to get in somewhere and learn hands on and build my hours in that seat.

    Thanks, Matt

  2. Lots of info (good, bad & ugly) on the AIA job over on www.APTAP.org forum too. I left CBP after almost 9.5 years as an AIA and two duty locations to fly ISR King Air 350s down range on 60/60 rotations. I can now live anywhere in the world I want, work half the year or more if I want to make more $$$, no additional duties, just fly the plane, and have zero interaction with the company for half the year during my time off at home. I'm still tossing around the idea of going to the Majors, but not sure if the 121 world is for me. (Caveat....I'm an Army RC-12 & C-12 bubba by trade.) IMO...CBP is a perfect gig for the helicopter only guy, someone who wants to fly UAVs, someone who loves the Southwest Border or Puerto Rico, or is looking for a pretty stable government job & pension. CBP has it's fair share of "ups & downs" and "pluses & minuses" but it just wasn't the place I wanted to hang around for another 10.5 years to just collect a pension. It was almost the same exact feelings I had & why I left active duty at around the same time point in my Army career. Feel free to ask questions or PM me if you want any info and I'll try to give you my view. Good luck & fly safe!
  3. Hi Herkbum, Well I turned 40 back in January of this year, so well past the 30 y.o. age cutoff for UPT and the FWQ is unfortunately dead too. I'm definitely not the youngest of possible candidates for sure, but over 5,000 hours of fixed & rotary wing flight time, ATP: AMEL, ASEL, HELO, Gold Seal CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, IGI, 3 type ratings, bachelors & masters degrees, etc. I still need around 7ish good years to get to my 20 and would probably stay much longer for the right ANG/AF Reserve gig in the New England or New York area. Thanks for any help you can give!
  4. I'm a prior service active duty U.S. Army Aviation CPT RC-12/C-12 driver and current part-time Army National Guard CW2 C-12 IP/IFE/MTP. I fly ISR King Airs as a DoD Contractor overseas on a 60 on/60 off rotating schedule for my full time job and live in Vermont. Looking to cross over into the Blue to get my commission back and finish up the remainder of my military drilling career in the ANG. If possible, I'd like to chat with someone in the know about the 152nd AOG or flying MQ-9 RPAs in the 174th Attack Wing (NYANG). I have lots of prior CAOC, LNO, staff officer and overseas ISR piloting experience. I've tried both e-mailing and calling an ANG recruiter, but haven't been put in contact with any rated pilots in either unit to chat. Please feel free to post here or PM me any POCs or pertinent information. Thanks in advance for all the help!
  5. The Vermont Army National Guard (VTARNG) is looking to hire 1-2 traditional part-time (M-day) C-12 (King Air 200/BE-200) Huron Pilots for their Operational Support Airlift (OSA) State Flight Detachment (SFD). These positions are located at the Vermont Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) at Burlington International Airport, VT (KBTV). We are a very small fixed wing aviation unit consisting of just: 6 Pilots, 1 NCO and 1 Aircraft supporting the Joint Operational Support Airlift Center (JOSAC), Operational Support Airlift-Activity (OSA-A), and the Vermont National Guard. We fly passengers (E-1 to O-10) and cargo throughout CONUS, as well as being an OCONUS deployable unit. These pilot positions are on a “flex-drill” schedule allowing you to work your annual 24 unit training assembly (UTA) drill days, 15 annual training (AT) days and 48 additional flight training period (AFTP) days as your civilian work schedule permits. Ideally, we would like to see you fly a minimum of 4-6 days per month, but we understand the needs of having a “work/life balance” for our part-timers. Our preference is for local pilots or those who will be relocating to New England or Upstate New York, but being located at an international airport with major airline service there is a strong possibility for guys looking to commute in who can us give multiple days of availability each month. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints and lack of initial WOCS/IERW flight training slots, we are seeking only U.S. military rated aviators (fixed and/or rotary wing), but we prefer C-12 or fixed wing qualified. However we encourage aviators of any airframe, rank, age, currency, branch, or years of services to apply. These positions are currently coded for Chief Warrant Officers (WO1-CW5), so Commissioned Officers will have to revert to CWO to be in the unit. The typical duties as a C-12 M-day CWO are pretty much flying the airplane and aviation related. These are currently part-time positions only, but in the future there may be possibilities for AGR openings. If you are interested in learning more about these opening or want to apply, please feel free to contact CW2 Matt Smith at: matthew.hall.smith@hotmail.com
  6. I'm also very interested in the answers to these questions, thanks in advance!
  7. McMaster is a very down to earth G.O. I flew him a few months ago out of Andrews in our Guard C-12. No aide, no entourage, no welcoming parties on both the way out and back. He carried his own bags and shot the shit with us CWOs just like a regular guy would and actually seemed engaged and not just going through the motions like some other G.O.s. He's as laid back and professional as they come based on my short interaction with him that day. I had Wiki'ed him prior to the flight and was impressed with his bio and history of speaking out...sure wish we had more of them in service!
  8. "Spc. Connell heard about the troop from a family friend, and was sold at his maiden recruiting event, a black-tie casino night at the armory with roulette, blackjack and strippers." Awesome!
  9. Has anyone heard of the Alsalam Aircraft Company? They have offered me a position as an ISR King Air 350 Instructor Pilot for the Royal Saudi Air Force with a pretty good total compensation package north of $250K a year. I would love to hear what anyone knows about the company, working with the RSAF & living in the Kingdom with a wife & 4 small children. Please feel free to PM me if you do not want to post on an open forum. Thanks!
  10. Checkout airwarriors.com for USN & USMC gouge. I don't have any knowledge I made the mistake of "Flying Army!"
