Is anyone familiar with this assignment and area? I’m looking at potentially leaving the CAF to go there, but I don’t know much about it. Thanks.

Have you already accepted the NJP? If not, and you feel this strongly about it, call the commander's bluff and refuse it. Then he's on the hook to take you to court martial, and to convince your peers that he's correct about your actions. Or he may back down and give you an LOR and referral OPR instead, and there's very little you can do about that.
Are you a pilot? It's possible it has happened in the past but I'm unaware of any year in which they didn't continue the entire 11X cohort. They didn't continue 12Xs one year that I recall, and it caused quite the uproar. I'd be surprised if you didn't get continued in either case, the USAF is in a pretty deep hole in terms of manning.
I did already accept the 15 a little while back. It wasn't worth trying to fight it. They didn't go for anything remotely near what was lied about, only what I had done, ended, and owned up to. It's extremely minor and complete overkill to be a 15 in my opinion. I talked to one of the other leaders involved who told me the wg/cc was dead set on crushing me, the 15 was no bluff.
My home-station leadership has had my back the whole way. I know getting promoted is about 99% out of the question, but if I can stay an O-4, hit 20, and keep flying, I'm perfectly happy with that.

Did you not talk with an ADC when presented with the Art 15?!?
Oh I did. The advice was basically - this guy has it out for you. Give him nothing.
On 12/17/2021 at 11:09 AM, NKAWTG said:#1 is the most correct answer so far. ADC's are mixed bag, but should give you the best advice. For the unsolicited advice side, start working the immediate exit plan. You won't make the next rank with paperwork meeting the board. Doubtful you will be continued to 20 once twice passed over. Guaranteed to be the top of the list when the next RIF occurs.
Even as an O-4 you think it's doubtful to make 20?

I know this will sound intrusive but I can’t help my curiosity, is there a story you would like (or not) to share with us?
On a side note, yes I can’t see how you would get anything less than an honorable 10 years after getting articled.
I'll gladly share it privately, but nothing I want to throw out there publicly just yet. I've had multiple commanders tell me it should have been an LOA at max.

That's some good info, thanks. I don't know how it works differently for officers. I'm hoping that over a decade of good service, getting a 15, and another decade of service means an honorable.

Ahh ok. That makes sense. My understanding is if you get an article 15 from one command and they don't pursue to kick you out, that any future commanders wouldn't look to kick you out because of that unless you have future misconduct. As long as you have a clean record post-15, then you should expect an honorable.

Short answer to your question is yes. An officer could have some period of acceptable service, have a "lapse in judgment", receive an offer of & accept an Article 15, and then potentially continue & leave with an honorable.
I'd caveat and say if the officer had done something sufficiently egregious that an Article 15 is being considered, you might not "expect" an honorable as the JAGs can (in my experience) get pretty zealous & will pursue a CM if they think they can prove all the required elements to a CM panel. Any Art. 15 discussion suggests potential CM-level issues.
That said, (as you probably already know) Art 15 is administrative & the only two discharges for officers as a result of that 'punishment' would be honorable or general (under honorable conditions).
Bad conduct/dishonorable come from the punitive articles of the UCMJ.
Lastly, if I've erred anywhere above, I'll happily stand corrected.
I'm not a lawyer, but I played one on TV. Good general info
Thanks Herk, what is a CM?

No...

As an officer, do administrative disciplines affect the type of discharge you receive if you have good conduct until you retire/separate? For example, if you have 10 years of good service and get an article 15, then have 10 more years of good service, can you expect an honorable discharge?

If it is, I really hope no one takes him seriously.

The guy that fired him is one of the better leaders I’ve had in my career. He’s a really standup guy from what I’ve seen.

Doesn't look like they confirmed any of the promotion lists.....SMH.
Indeed. It’s been sitting on their desk since the 18th, and in their office since July 22d...

It should be the same day. AFPC said 1 Sept or Senate confirmation date, whichever is later. Im in the same boat where it should have been 1 Sept.

The bill pages just got updated with some new actions. I have no idea what they mean, but the committee is doing something with them today.

I haven’t seen generals or other high up leadership get political before. I guess I just haven’t paid attention to it until now. I’ve always been told we are not allowed to say anything publicly that criticizes any elected official, whether in or out of uniform, so I’ve always stayed away from making any comments in those conversations.

Hey guys,
Apolitical question about our rules - I noticed a part-time Guard officer running for office who consistently criticizes the president. She has said some pretty inflammatory stuff about President Trump. Regardless of which side of the political aisle you are on, isn’t this completely illegal? Do Guard members fall under different rules?

I found the major link as well. All it says for their actions is that it’s been referred to the Committee on Armed Services. Is that supposed to be updated when it’s scheduled to be discussed?

According to that, the first DoD-related topic for the House is on Tuesday, 10 Sept. I’m not very savvy with how politics work, but maybe we’ll get lucky.

ACSC complete, only negative indicator is that I've never left the community to do staff, never did instructor duty at PCola, never went ALO, and I didn't DG from SOS. I even did a Master's, before they were masked on the board.
No LORs, no failed PT tests, no Q-2 or Q-3 check rides.
Bro, I don't know what's going on. Your PRF looked pretty darn good to me. I've got another 4 years until I'm IPZ for O-5, but I'm already debating if it's worth playing the game and hoping for the best or do what I want and focus on being a lethal pilot.

You will pin on the 1st of a given month
All 100+ people in an increment pin on date is the 1st of that month
you only pin on random days to 1LT, and Capt
That’s awesome, thanks!
It’s amazed me how much stuff I’ve learned about applying for UPT from active duty, promotions, writing OPRs, etc. from the bro network (especially here). I’ve contacted the promotions section here multiple times throughout this major board process and they never seem to have any answers.

How do you know what day you pin on when your month is time? So if you pin on in September and you are line #1, what day do you actually pin on?
Selective Continuation factors after double passed over for O-5
in General Discussion
Posted
Does anyone have experience dealing with getting continuation after a DNP? Some NJP is in the picture from a few years ago that I thought I had recovered from, but that still played into a DNP for my first look at O-5. I’m assuming it’s not going to change next year. I’ve assumed I would get double passed over, but I was expecting a Promote at least. Does a DNP likely mean a DNP next year and how does that affect continuation? Thanks for any experiences.
