  1. Guess I can't deploy if I can't print vRED. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  2. The MAF WIC is not the 57th WPS. The 509th and 29th also get to play. The C130 WIC is the oldest-they had their 20th anniversary class this spring. You're partially correct about the MAF WO community just beginning to get old enough to have more GOs (Otey is another-it's not just Robinson). The WO discussion becomes a chicken and egg argument very quickly because AMC values Phoenix programs much more than WIC. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  3. Is there a way to get MAF involved? Beyond tankers? Not trying to smash a square peg into a round hole STS, but I know herks have gone to RF-Alaska. Any reason they can't/shouldn't participate at Nellis? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  4. Any word on when the O4 list gets released? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

Walmart has Marlin 1895 lever guns in 45/70 on sale for $299 and Ruger American Rifles on sale for $199 (certain calibers only). Not available at all walmarts and stock is limited, but good luck if you're in the market!
  6. Who says it has to have a current giant report? Serious question-this was a topic of debate recently with a few other dudes. To point two: if it's one takeoff and landing from each OG then CFR is not required under the exception for X number of TO/ldgs in 30 days or whatever. I'm on leave and not going to look it up.
  7. Chuck is right. Lumberjack-that in house stuff you're talking about is called BATS. Which everyone should be doing anyway
  8. Scoobs I thought you were already an AGR F35/C-17/KC-46 pilot and a wide body captain at delta? Or did I get you mixed up with someone else?
  9. My editing fu is weak. It's early, no coffee yet and j don't understand what my phone is telling me. Here's my comment: Unfortunately people who know nothing about what your comment means get to make the decision about where the tails live. The people who had the pull to get Raptors in Hawaii are not going to easily let go of "their" 17's

I have not used one, but I've done some research on them. For what they are, I don't think it's worth it unless you've got a big pile of 80% lowers sitting around and don't already own a router and a drill press. The GG is $1000+, each lower is $50 and they ran into ITAR issues or something that prevented them setting up the forum that they were going to have. If you get one, I'd love to hear how you like it.
  11. Can I feel like a girl for PT test purposes?

Dry fire practice is a whole lot cheaper than blasting ammo
  13. Sure seems like a lot of self righteous assholes in here believing that a flight control check is such basic enough airmanship that you would never takeoff without doing one. I get it. As pilots, that's how this works-we all believe it could never happen to me. Someone else pointed out that in the H we always said "previously checked" on the flight controls step of the before takeoff checklist when we were running it after an ERO. In hindsight that's a shitty practice-but until this crash most guys would tell you the flight controls have been checked. Today. By me. What could have happened to them since then? And it's not even a step on the ERO checklist in the J. I'm glad some of you are good enough to never consider making a mistake like that. Apparently you're so good you would have identified that it wasn't a checklist step and should have been. For the rest of us-There but for the grace of God go I. Don't be a douche, these guys weren't idiots. Learn from them.
  14. I tap on the menu bar in the top right corner, tap on "log in" and the menu bar flies away to the right-I don't get far enough to enter a display name/email/password/nada.
  15. The new app won't let me log in. I can view just fine as a guest but not log in. This is on my iPhone. Anyone have any suggestions?

1.5 years to have grips made? I would have forgot I ordered them. I would have moved after forgetting that I ordered them...
  17. I'll also add-go read the previous page of this thread. Rainman's post is still spot on
  18. Concur with drewpey. I've been tasked to do a lot of things-some are arguably tactics related, but most have been squarely in the tactics wheelhouse. Nearly all of it has been interesting-very very little boredom. The doors it will close: if you want to do something that's not on the approved track, it is difficult or impossible to get released by the functional. IE teach at USAFA or go to the 89th - although things like that could open up later in your career.

Arizona. Only partially kidding. I got my initial issue CHL in Texas - I found the class to be worthwhile and I'm glad I took it. But when it came to renew I found myself not living in Texas (and this was before they changed the rules about renewals) so I couldn't very well attend the renewal class. So I got my prints done at Bagram and mailed those with a check and I think a copy of my 522 to Arizona and now I have an AZ CHL. If this is your first one, go to the class - and someone will be around to recommend an instructor - what city are you in/near?

Just wait until you suppress that SR22. I did it with mine and I just giggle when I'm shooting it now.
  21. How long until their challenge to the LRS-B contract gets decided? Maybe Boeing will build the new bomber in that plant...
  22. It works. Personally ops tested the past few years.
