  1. Forget base housing... You get a lot bigger house and a lot nicer house in town. The better rentals go quickly. Look in the neighborhoods around memorial stadium (where I live/20 min drive) or just off of Kell behind Market Street. There are a few other areas with decent houses as well. I am not knocking the base housing but if I am going to give up my entire BAH, I would much rather have a larger place. Most of the IP's I know live off base. PM if you have questions.
  2. Health Care after VSP and before civilian jobs: http://www.tricare.mil/Welcome/SpecialPrograms/CHCBP.aspx
  3. I know I'm at the back end of the gravy train but Approved (deployed)... 2005 11M, T-6/C-5 UPT ADSC: 3.0 years waived Denied on 1st attempt, re-applied. CDB & CMS not updated yet... Still show "ref to AFPC off vol sep pay" but have the email. Good luck to all of you guys on the outside, you can have my airline/corporate slot... Going to try my hand at a non-flying gig. -SH
  4. As much as I want this to be true, I have a very difficult time believing that AFPC will be working over the weekend. If that were the case, we would have seen answers a long time ago...
  5. Talked to the Total Farse Service Center just after midnight CST (deployed)... Asked about updated VSP adjudication timelines and the dude just read me the standard response of "no later than mid-may". Let's see if AFPC's definition of mid-May (NLT 31 Dec) = my definition of mid-May (NLT 15 May). Good Luck -SH
  6. PSDM 14-08 Says "Through 1 May" and then something about "After the window closes on 1 May". My assumption after re-reading the PSDM, is that 2 May is the start of the processing time. Either way, AFPC has had 4 f-ing months to get their crap together and have yet to show any effort on meeting a deadline. Good luck to all of you when we find out in June... "May the odds be ever in your favor...and mine" '05 11M
  7. I love how this is in direct contrast to the new 14-08 that says they will not process until after 1 May. Another example of the right hand not talking to the left at AFPC. The way this reads, I get the feeling that it was either written in a vacuum OR well before 14-08 was revised. -SH
  8. I called and talked to AFPC... She (the level 1 rep) looked into my account and on the back side of their gonculator it says "pending TL approval". The rep said this means Team Lead and she inferred this is the last step prior to approval but wasn’t entirely sure nor did she have any idea on how long it will take to get an answer. My current status in CMS shows "referred to off voluntary separation pay". Take it for what it's worth but I won’t believe anything until I have my orders in hand. -SH
  9. How did you guys know that the '02 year group is +40? Is that published somewhere? Let the public flogging commence if I missed this somewhere... Anyone know the overage for '05? -SH
  10. Yes... I was part of the group that was denied and told to reapply. Since I reapplied, it has been with BPO until 6 to 9 minutes ago when it changed to the current status. It would be nice if they listed the steps somewhere...
  11. ALCON, Just had a VSP status change to "referred to AFPC off voluntary separation pay" Anyone know what that means? 2005 11M (Curently T-6 IP) Both Sq/Wg CC's approved
  12. AFPC has posted a note that parts of vMPF and CMS would be down from 9-10 Apr. Another great plan from AFPC... (edit for everyone's SA) AFPC Applications UNAVAILABLE The AFPC Server migration into the Air Force Network will begin on 9 April 0700 and continue through 10 April 1600. Some applications will be Unavailable or Degraded until the migration has been completed. The migration must occur during duty hours to support contracting obligations with the AF team. Business Objects (BO) and some files shares will be UNAVAILABLE during the migration. Applications Affected: BO - Business Objects * All functionality of Business Objects to include scheduled reports will be unavailable. CMS - Case Management System will be degraded. * All CMS case attachments will be unavailable. * CMS Maintenance Application. * CMS/AFPC Secure Users update will be unavailable. * DFAS/CMS Case merge will be unavailable. vMPF - Virtual Military Personnel Flight system will be degraded. * vMPF tutorials will be unavailable. * Email capability will be unavailable.
  13. Any rumors on when the updated PSDM's will drop (presumably w/o 11M's eligible)? All of this just in time for the next VML... Let's see how "understanding" my leadership is when it is time to work my assignment. UFB.
