Or they won't RIF you either, despite you asking them to. Then, they won't promote you twice, after which they'll offer you continuation which you will turn down, and then you're gone and they don't pay you a dime. Could be a bad deal or it could be the best (Air Force related) thing that ever happened to you.

Ok, thanks. I can trough on alert at least until the next FY. What do you think makes more sense: troughing and hoping our squadron keeps it's alert mission beyond next FY or switching to regular guard guy and going to a regional, assuming I can get hired at one? What if I can get a technician/AGR job?
I recently left the AD for the Guards. I barely have ATP mins since most of my TT is drone time and doesn't count. Should I try go to a regional and fly RJs to help build time to have a better chance at a major? Or should I continue to bum on alert as long as possible?
