  1. http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&gcx=c&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=skydiving+couple Third link down: "Couple Has Sex While Skydiving (Very NSFW)". Your google-fu is extremely weak. While they may have jumped out sans clothes, I doubt there was any actual sex going on, either in the plane or on the dive. My money is on viral advertising campaign for the skydive operation.
  2. STOVL is only a requirement because of the MEUs embarked on the LHDs.
  3. Jepp Mobile FD sits at ~600mb installed with around another ~600mb for the downloaded content (worldwide terminal and enroute charts). Some days I wonder what it would cost the DoD just to have Jeppesen handle the [e-]publishing of all our terminal charts so that they were all in one standard format.
  4. Pretty standard. Lots of GA parts are automotive parts with FAA approval...and outrageous price tags.
  5. Those are the C-17 winglets being flight tested. If you search the Rand AF project, there is an article that examines wingless on tankers. The cost vastly outweighed the gain.
  6. Nah, even real fighter pilots forget to do that...
  7. Please read...you can do the program completely as a Capt and you will only have to do half of ACSC correspondence. This program is a pretty good deal from my perspective, Again, it is not academically rigorous, but it can make you think if you are willing to put effort into the program. You will even learn some useful military stuff. You can also do most of the work while drunk...trust me, this has been demonstrated with good results. PM me if you want more info, but I think this program can be really great with a few tweaks...and it is a pretty painless way to do the Master's or Master's and ACSC.
  8. http://www.au.af.mil/au/dlmasters.asp It is similar to TUI courses...threaded discussions, usually two papers per class. 11 classes to graduate. If you are a Maj or Maj(S) it also gives ACSC credit. Can start the degree as a Capt and finish it as a Maj to complete both PME and Master's. It isn't very hard...it can be done by dedicating a few hours a week. Plus, no TA is required. Certain WIC grads can take the short course of only core classes.
  9. The ACSC online masters program is exceptionally easy. But it is not fast.
  10. You have never been to the "restaurant" at Paya Lebar, I take it...
  11. Of course the seat has it's own locator beacon! Didn't you see Behind Enemy Lines? Chillingly realistic.
  12. What is this bullshit attempt at "real information?" I have it on good authority that he was wearing one tan and one sage boot, thus causing the crash.
  13. I heard it was because he didn't know how to use "you're."
  14. The new BCUs are scheduled to begin delivery in 2012. Didn't read close enough to see if it was CY or FY.
  15. According to current projections, the KC-10 boom control units will not be able to be repaired by 2012+/-2 years. The same document specifically mentions that if the BCU does not receive a replacement before this time, we will have jets with non-functional booms as BCUs continue to fail...
  16. Your word choice indicates at least two separate experiences. If you're dead set on getting a Bachelor's degree, then you need to focus on getting a useful degree. If you get a specialty (worthless) degree just to check the box for Big Blue, you're going to be laughed at by even more companies if you don't get picked up by the AF...especially since we're heading for lots of belt-tightening due to the current economic situation.
  17. Ok, so I had to use the ######ing search to piece together your whole story... Since you currently have some sort of seemingly worthless Associate of Arts degree...have you looked into a 2 year Bachelor's program rather than spending four more years trying to finish college? On another note...despite what the world is telling people, higher education is not always the right thing for a person...just sayin' that one assumed failed attempt at college ($20k debt) and an AA degree from nowhere...and you're going back for more? I just don't get the impression that pursuing the pilot thing is the right choice...
  18. You both have to be present. As there is no required waiting period between obtaining the license and getting married, you can do it the day of or the day prior. Suck it up.
  19. My most recent advice from leadership was pretty much what they said above: Quals (what makes you a more special leaf than all the other leaves out there) Goal (I would like another flying billet/Staff/white jet -- Next assignment AND long term) Aircraft/Location Prefs Extenuating Circumstances (joint spouse, kid sick, etc) That was the advice from HQ AF, so I'll hopefully soon find out what AMC is wanting in that box (sts, teehee).
  20. All you need are names and last known addresses. The investigators are pretty good about tracking down your references.
  21. We had a problem with someone in my Sq who had a dual citizenship...I think he had to renounce his non-US citizenship, but I'm not 100% sure. You may want to look into it if it is a factor in your case.
  22. Copy. AVIS USA was shittastically unhelpful. I take that back, they did provide the email address for Italian AVIS customer service. So I emailed them with a Google translation (and my original English and apologies for my terrible Italian writing). The US office can see everything but refuses to deal with it, and they were nonplussed by the BBB comment. The charge is already contested with USAA, pending resolution from AVIS. I'm already seeing the bureaucracy, as it took them over a month to process the ticket and three months to send it to AVIS. However it took AVIS only a short time to magically finger (sts) me.
  23. Help me fight the man -- International Version Just received a notice from AVIS (Italy) that they determined that I was the driver of a car that was ticketed on mainland Italy while I was on the island of Sicily. They have already charged my credit card for their "admin fee" in discovering I was the "culprit." Here's the rub: According to the ticket, I was speeding at 15:56 near Salerno (mainland). However, my rental receipt shows that I was turned in the car at 16:20 the same day as the ticket. Somehow, I suspect being the only 'merican they could stick with the ticket, AVIS concluded I was speeding in the vehicle over 700 km away within 25 minutes of me turning it in. Any thoughts as to how to go about getting my money back from AVIS and not having to pay the ticket (fee yet to be established)? Anyone experienced with foreign speed cameras? Thanks.
