  1. Rumor from Hill is a couple dudes have 7 day opt'd OPS to OPS. Wow.
  2. I can't get to the portal because General Spencer is talking to me in a video.
  3. Oh man, prepared to get hammed on this thread. I will leave it to the more creative and funny guys to berate you, but I will give you some advice: If you want to fly Pavehawks, then you need to rush the Guard/Reserve units that actually fly them. Off the top of my cranium, look at Long Island, Patrick, Kirtland, Alaska, and Moffett.
  4. When I showed up in Tucson for the IPUG I thought a car show was going on. Nope, just the foreign students daily drivers.
  5. I like the LtCol's and civilians that are still wearing the flight suits they had as Captains. When they gain weight-and they do-thier flight suits barely cover the tops of their boots. Looks awesome.
  6. Just want to third that since "Bad Gouge Butters" is on the prowl. Although nothing still posted for this year, the last five+ years in AFRC have had a 4 year at $25K a year or 2,3,4 subsequent (ie you have already taken the bonus) at $15K a year.
  7. Won't the Navy just send you to a P-3/737/non-carrier based aircraft?
  8. Do it. I got one in the B-Course many years ago and it has been worth every penny many times over. It's been to war on my wrist and it will probably be the coolest heirloom I pass on.
  9. Looking into the crystal ball: lots of words and "reprimands" and gnashing of teeth.....and allowed to retire and collect his O5 retirement pay.
  10. Can someone show me some examples of where the media "criticizes his willingness to be open about his Christianity?"
  11. Agree with Prozac. Go ask the Army bros what they think of General Odierno; everyone I know thinks very highly of him.
  12. Proposed. In 2017. That means absolutely nothing....at least to the 1x SWA, 1x Alaska, 2x Delta, 2x American, and one United guy(s) I asked around the squadron today.
  13. I stand corrected on United and US Air.....even though both airlines still have some folks on furlough. My bad. I stand by my statement that a 1st year FO making $97K is not likely.
  14. Bad gouge. First off, no Majors are hiring right now. There is no domestic airline that has 300-500 retirees a year that is hiring. And here is no Major that pays first year FO pay in 2017 at $93K. Name the airline and then go to airlinepilotcentral.com to confirm or deny this.
  15. "Millionaires don't get to where they are and say, "Man, those credit card rewards really helped me get here." They got there by living within their means, which means they did not BORROW MONEY. " Champ, that actually isn't true in my experience. I sold private jets for a couple years and talked to literally hundreds of people who could stroke a check for a $2 million jet. A common thread of these folks is that they took some big risks-and debt-to succeed in whatever business they are in. In fact, I noticed two common threads in these folks (aside from them all having a new wife that is 20 years younger!): they started a business in the field they had already worked in for years and they borrowed every penny they could to launch their business. I realize there is a line between business and personal finance, but that line is narrow with many entrepreneurs....who are now millionaires.
  16. Why isn't the survey posted? Why does it take 13 days from now to submit your ideas? Why did I click on that video? I will fill it out when it shows up.
  17. As of yet, no one from the ANG has attended TPS. One AFRC pilot has thus far. And your comment regarding flight time is backwards in some cases; there are guard/reserve units that are flying more than the active duty; fighter and heavy and even in some TFI units.
  18. These are the threads that make me happy.
  19. I call BS on this. If you want to be a "whistle blower" you need to man the F up and say who you are. It doesn't work both ways. Sounds to me like a guy who didn't get the AGR slot or promotion he was wanting.
  20. Remember there is a difference between the guard and the Reserve. For example, someone said, "we got a waiver for an O5 over 28...." That won't happen in the reserves. Think of it this way, in the guard, there is a way (or waiver) for almost anything you dream up; in the Reserves, there is a way....and it is whatever active duty would do.
  21. That analogy sucks; people who buy lottery tickets are dumb; people who leave active duty for the ANG/AFRC are smart.
  22. Lord Ballwash....USMC Harrier pilot.
  23. Someone please put that funny goat/alpaca/llama thing in here now.
  24. Are you saying your CC assigned you to a deployment as punishment for looking at the Guard?
  25. A most important post.....look two up and reread AA's post. If you have a current IP Form 8, you don't need to do the American Flyers/Gleim haze. Just call the FSDO in advance for an appointment.
