  1. Apparently the SJA was wrong because the base JAG said it wasn't a lawful order. Rent plane...have fun...enjoy the cheeseburger. Don't let any douches on here tell you what is more fulfilling in life. Hopefully aeroclub rates come back down now that 100LL is getting cheaper. Sadly they probably wont.
  2. The article dismisses the dues like that is the least of their problems, but I thinks its part of the systematic issue. Why would I pay $20 bucks a month to get a "discount" on drinks and the "food" at the buffet. I agree horrible programs like 0-0-1-3 have not helped, but the dues combined with the unnecessary credit card don't help the situation.
  3. Apparently CIA memos are okay...VC-25 pictures are not.
  4. I would submit American alley in Xania on Crete... The Brit Club on Diego, not many can say they played beer pong south of the equator...
  5. Only in the Air Force would you be so gay as to standardize blues monday. Do we really need ROTC style guidance on the version of blues we wear.
  6. Hey..I'm just as skeptical as anyone else about everything Big Blue does, but the Eagle card thing really is THAT easy. No downsides and no pogs to carry around in your PT gear after going to buy dip/coffee/beer. Biggest hassle is the 5 min at finance to get it...and then its good for life. Unlimited balance transfers...its one of the few things in the died I like. I just keep it with my id and then I never waste my time walking back to the tent to get cash. Spend your time fighting reflective belts and pt gear anad lack of cookies and cream at the chow hall, not this.
  7. I'll do ya one better...I was there 3 weeks ago. You could use credit cards and debit cards at the BX and if you asked the TCN real nice they'd let you do up to 20 bucks cash back. But that got old and I just went with the Eagle Card...actually really easy to use since everyone took it and there were kiosks everywhere. I have yet to figure out who is getting kick backs from the eagle card...cause you know someone is...otherwise they'd put in CC/ATM machines.
  8. Anyone else notice that on the Air Force Times website what was the lead article (Metzger) earlier today is not pushed off to the "more headlines" page about half way down. AND the forum at the bottom of the page that people could voice their opinion about the matter is now gone. I thought just baseops had the magic broom. Someone must have gotten really tired about hearing the bitching.
  9. Yes. If its an accredited program through your school, maybe, but just taking classes somewhere doesn't cut the mustard. AQ teaches classes too. Just cause you say you were getting an education doesn't mean you'll get cleared. Intel is not about understanding the cultural differences between the West and the East. What you're talking about is what the state department does, not the DoD. Intel gets the job done by helping get bombs on target without getting the pilot shot down; not by telling them why the Dirka Dirka man is smoking a hookah. If you want to go, please go. I keep waiting for the moment when it clicks and either you stop posting or you say "Well thanks guys, I never thought that wondering around the fertile crescent for a year was a bad idea." If you don't like your options maybe the military isn't for you.
  10. Sounds like ROTC field training is setting up a new FTU: Al Udied I, II, & III

  12. I did the report one day, start class a few days later at RND. Best thing to do is report in, you do the meet and greet with the NIFTy Flt Commander (even if you're complete, you're still his until class), get your check-in-checklist and go on your way. Your Load info is correct. Show up for the 0730 (or whenever it is, they'll tell you) and take care of business (check-in, set up email, visit finance, etc) every day until your class starts. Since you just got there you won't have to get voluntold on a task, they know you gotta get checked-in/settled; especially if you start class the next week. On the same token, if they got something you wanna help out with go for it. But basically work an hour and then go home at set up your stuff. As for your semi related question: Randy is usually noted for having AETC HQ, AFPC, PIT training, and I think the CSO training gets listed somewhere after the Burger King. Point of the matter is that the BASE isn't like a student environment, but it is a high brass environment so pay attention accordingly. I had a buddy (2Lt) miss a salute with a 3 star but he nailed the salute with another Lt a few minutes later. You get your student harrassment in the squadron but not anywhere else. They don't treat you like a FOB (Fresh Off the Bus), its not Field Training/OTS. You're treated like an L-T is anywhere else, which doesn't say too much, but you're not a cadet anymore if that's what you mean. Just act like an officer and they'll treat you like one. There are a few exceptions depending on your Flt/CC, but the sweet aint as sweet w/o the sour. Its a good time. PM if you have any extra questions. Like I said I went through the same deal. Hollar!
