  1. Rumor mill is not one, but two instances of dating or other relations with enlisted/way younger officers while not yet divorced; also, conveniently timed to cover up his practice of hiring bias based on race. #gowokegobroke

  2. Hello again Baseops Users, I've added a few new prints and restocks to my Etsy shop focusing on high quality, technically accurate pencil drawings of modern fighters. I've also reinstated the special 20% discount code I offered over Christmas for Baseops members indefinitely. I'm planning on attending some airshows on the West Coast later this year (such as DM) so I hope to see some of you there. The coupon will apply in-person as well. Lots more prints coming this year including a Viper, Legacy Hornet, T-38, and even a BMW for you car people. https://www.etsy.com/shop/redwolfillustrations?coupon=BASEOPSDOTNET

  3. You are not required to accept continuation. Others on this board have used that fact after being passed over to get out of their pilot ADSCs. The GI Bill one may be more tricky...they can't force you to take continuation, but they may take back your transfer and not allow your dependents to use it.

  5. I can confirm his stuff is awesome. Just phenomenonal quality for the price. Framed four together as part of a revitalization project for the ROTC detachment where I teach.

  7. Holy shit, how is it even possible to draw like that. I feel like such a talentless clown. I’d ask for a picture of bqzip’s mom, but I don’t think they make that many pencils.

  8. Right in the middle of heading back to my civilian job now. I always planned on going back, so maybe a little different than your situation, but you can always look at it as...what if you need that job for some reason? Who knows what the world situation will be when you pop out at the end of the pipeline? Your unit may not have orders to keep you going as long as you plan; the airlines might not be hiring; you might find yourself without a viable option for a another civilian job; or (not trying to put the evil on you, Ricky Bobby, but gotta give a legit look at everything) you might just not make it through UPT, so you might need to go back to the civilian world. Hell, even if all goes well, there can be some serious breaks in the ANG pilot training pipeline, from my understanding, and it can vary by unit whether they keep you paid/insured and on orders during them. You might find yourself waiting for a few months between OTS and UPT or UPT and PIQ to where you might need to have a civilian gig to keep a roof over your head and yourself fed. So, why leave your USERRA protected job in the dust when there’s at least a (hopefully small) chance you’ll have to go back to it? The fact they pay you Mil leave is a nice positive kicker, but I’d honestly hang onto the gig more so because the world is uncertain and, whether you love your job or not, it is one you can have legally held for you while you journey through the pipeline.

  9. The market will go down at some point. The question is more how deep and how long? (Sts) For retirement savings a 10-20% dip for a year or two should be recoverable. If you get a decade of negative returns, that will hurt people's plans a lot. If you are about to retire, it may be a good idea to have a couple years worth of money in super low risk savings/funds. That way, you don't have to sell at a loss during a temporary crash.

  10. https://www.rt.com/usa/521381-maxine-waters-brooklyn-center-curfew/ Maxine Waters shows up in MN encouraging people to be more confrontational. Of course the message to people can’t be to not commit aggravated robbery, not to break the terms of your release by being in possession of a weapon or to not flee while the police are lawfully arresting you. Nope. Can’t say any of that.

  11. MX is not for a person who is sensitive and needs time outs. To be successful you have find your own way of personal accomplishment. The guys who are good and the ones who make the schedule happen are treated like rented mules. The ones who get the recognition suck in mx but are allowed to do all the things that will make them perfumed E-9s. Just keep them away from the flight line so they don't screw us up. I don't envy a MX Sq CC, her senior enlisted leadership E-9's probably did not give her the support or loyalty needed to be successful. Since those E-9's are part of a culture of only looking out for themselves and were trying to become super E-9's instead of supporting the mission of the Sq. If I was the incoming SQCC I would clean house and made sure these guys had the EPR's to match being a POS. Seek out the guys always wearing coveralls, who's suede boots are black and have a talk with them. The B-1 is the most MX intense jet there is in the inventory, you need good mechanics not flashlight holders.

  13. Appreciate the feedback, I've gotten requests for all of those airframes in the past and planning on eventually doing each one. As of now I've got an Apache, Hornet, Viper, T-6, and P-51 planned for the short term. Admittedly I've neglected heavies over the years which I will try and make up for. I just added a few more prints to my Etsy page with over a dozen still in the works. Make sure to use the 20% off code if you order something! I'll try not to spam this thread with every print I do but heres a few more examples (last one was a commission for a change of command):
