  1. Did he do things exactly as described in Air Force Times? You’re putting more faith in what that POS publication says vs. a fellow pilot who many will vouch for with first hand knowledge of the man. Shack, OSI standard. I was involved in an OSI investigation once and in a similar position as your ex-wife. They threatened me with punishment, getting me kicked out of UPT, etc. if I didn’t essentially roast someone/give them what they wanted to hear. I said nothing and life went on, the other individual didn’t get fucked over, and we all lived happily ever after...except for the bloodlust OSI agents who were pissed because they lost a chance to fuck someone over. They’re a bunch of coercive scumbags and I will always be extremely skeptical of anything OSI has “extracted” from someone.

  2. I only flew the line for a year before going on mil leave; and I've been gone for 4 years. HOWEVER, I commuted to NYC from Nola, held pretty much all international on the 767 that whole year and still flew Eagles in the Guard. I will more than likely be a commuter my whole career because I don't want to live anywhere we have a base. It's all what's important to you - I'll commute to wide body FO with good seniority when I go back next year. Will I make more money than the guys in base? Nope. Will I be just as happy because I'm living where I want to live - YEP! Airline job is truly choose your own adventure; which is one thing I love about it.

  4. An OG/CC rubbed his dick against another mans wife ass, at a work related event. That’s not “odd”, it’s 100% wrong. As a member of Wing leadership, this man SHOULD have common sense enough to recognize appropriate social boundaries...Let’s not make this into a “one mistake Air Force” argument, he retired as an O-6 without facing any UCMJ charges.

  5. Maybe it’s just me, but it didn’t seem like the wife of a subordinate commander (who seemingly got along with his boss) had an axe to grind. Especially considering that she spoke on the record with the AF Times. I’m not saying that the AF Times hasn’t raked muck before, but I also don’t find it hard to believe that the guy was grinding on a subordinate’s wife.

  6. I'm putting more faith in a CDI than one of his (presumably) male friends who would never have been touched inappropriately/sexually by him. What exactly would it take for you to believe the woman who accused him?

  7. This is the actual purpose of a CDI (if that’s how it was investigated). I interviewed over 20 people in a complaint that simply accused an officer of being unprofessional. I would certainly hope that similar process would be given when investigating an O-6. Not saying it was done that way, but in my experience these kinds of things go deeper than a simple “she said” #metoo.

  8. Posterior or ulterior? Almost any version works in this unfortunate case. That sucks when people screw up that badly, but it happens. Wing status of discipline briefs are sobering. Fuge is gold, I’m sure it was legit.

  9. Thread bump. Just attended this course as an O-5 staff MAJCOM Stan/Eval guy. Excellent course, excellent staff, went above and beyond. I’ll put the plug out there that if you are flying FTIP reviewed procedures to really double check the TERPS / MAJCOM A3 review. There are a lot of assumptions on both sides of the table but the BL is you are the PIC and it’s your ass. Just because it is signed doesn’t mean it’s safe.

  12. During my stuff OSI Skyped my ex-wife, who had been out of the Air Force for years, to see if they could get her to say what a shitty person I was. We were on good terms, so she had nothing but nice things to say. That didn’t fit their biased narrative, so they’re excluded her statement in the Report of Investigation.

  13. Wow, this was a shock and very saddening, I had to re-read the OP a few times to make sure it wasn't a joke. I didn't know matmac personally but safe to say he seemed like a great guy/officer and well respected both on and off this forum. I remember years ago back when I was still an rotc cadet him and rainman shutting me down on a regular basis for saying standard ignorant cadet things but usually with a constructive tone (but not always... sometimes pure ownage at my expense). We exchanged a couple DM's later before I was med DQ'd and again he seemed like the real deal. Mat was one of the posters who kept me coming back to this forum over a decade after I discovered it and this news is a real tragedy. RIP, him him

  15. Hey, hey...I’m right here. I can hear you. 190 is a great little jet. I’m a JetBlue 190 guy, I drive to the Guard and to the airport. One year in I’m at 50% seniority. Sometimes money isn’t everything. QoL.

  16. Don't get me started. They are worse than Jet Blue's pay rates. Of course 1st year pay is the same for all, but year two stays the same as first year pay. Not sure WTF they were thinking. Needless to say, almost everyone 6 months out of INDOC is withheld from something else with a better pay scale. Ironically, some of the highest paid CA's in the company are in the E190. Other than that, I really don't have anything bad to say about the airplane and I have flown with a great bunch of CA's. Living in-base on Reserve on it has been pretty awesome.

  18. And fuel savings as well. Just like they took off the galleys, garbage cans, passenger EPOS and in some cases the troop seats. Only for AMC to release an update a year or so ago saying that taking 690 pounds off the jet did nothing to save fuel.

  19. I haven’t seen Fargo in several years, but I’ve been around him for multiple years and have never seen him do anything out of the ordinary that a shitload of other people haven’t done. Yeah he’s done standard drunk fighter pilot shit that 95% of us have done, but not things as described by the Air Force rag. I know Fuge too and trust his judgement, but this still smells a whole lot like something blown out of proportion combined with guilty until proven innocent (and by the way, nobody is going to put any effort into trying to prove innocence). Fuge was probably handed something he had no real choice on, but fuck OSI for going to such great lengths to destroy people.

  21. Current PCSM isn't incredible, I know multiple people with similar hours, lower scores and a higher PCSM. BUT, thankfully a lot of guard units look at your 201+ more than the current PCSM. Like ryleypav said, if you are getting interviews, you are on the right track. It just sounds like you weren't comfortable during your interview. You should be prepared for you answer, but besides the "about me", it might be better to have an idea of the high points you want to hit in your answer rather than something memorized. If you are really worried, it might be useful to do Bogidope or another company's interview prep. You are on the right track, most people don't get hired on their first interview, so just use that experience going forward.

  22. I think you've kind of answered this one for yourself? Being that you've interviewed at a guard fighter unit I'd say your shot is pretty good? Just follow their advice and be yourself and answer honestly. The interview is for them to get to know you better. They basically get your package and the interview to figure out if they want to fly with you for the next 10-20 years. Getting the interview is the hard part. That means they are seriously considering you, out of all of the applicants. Which for a fighter unit, is typically very high.
