  1. The fact that a Ukrainian airline, flying a Boeing 737, crashed and/or was shot down in Iran is the unified conspiracy theory we all can get behind right now. The rare triple-crossover conspiracy, almost never seen outside the lab.

  2. It talked mainly about dudes mowing the lawn, an unlit tower, a new MDA that went into effect 5 years ago, World War 3 starting, and an unlit taxiway.

  4. This operation (soliemani big boom) and subsequent events (not including the B738) went exactly according to plan. We sent a message, they got the message. We let them p*ss a little, and now we're back to where we were, except that Iran's proxy interference may be reduced somewhat next time. Done, period - end. (Although, I bet no one counted on all of the idiots coming out of the woodwork, to say how mean we were in taking this guy out).

  5. My Guard unit is always looking for guest help to sit alert. Title 10 orders, full AD pay, BAH, BAS, etc... 10 days work/20 days off per 30 day orders, full per diem, lodging paid for, TAMP 180, not to mention time off of your guard retirement age. My plan is to keep doing this off and on and get an Active Duty retirement while still keeping my line number at the airlines. Best of all worlds. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  6. Sounds more like either A. The CC wants more control over the masses or B. He doesn't want the blame if someone does something stupid. Too bad he is willing to sacrifice other's ability to defend themselves for it...😡

  7. If they hit Al Asad, it would definitely improve the place.

  8. It’s Ukrainian and a passenger on board had information that would’ve led to the arrest of Hillary Clinton...🤷‍♂️

  10. Re: 13K over end strength. Last numbers I saw were at the end of FY19 citing our end of FY18 stats. So this data’s a year old, but it showed that the total force is short roughly 2K pilots out of a required 21K. If you exclude the ARC and look just at AD, we were apparently 1.8K short on CGOs and 1K over on FGOs for a total of 807 AD pilots short. Not sure I believe those numbers, but that’s what’s on the slide. Obviously that also implies that the ARC is about 1.2K shy. Bashi, same thing here as above. The last PC app we sent up got disapprovals all the way up to the PC office, and still ultimately got approved for 6 months off. I think your odds are still good.

  14. I think the key difference is that this knucklehead was in Baghdad when he caught a warhead. I’d also be willing to speculate that there was pretty good intel linking him to the embassy shenanigans .... or ... he was getting a little too popular / powerful back home and we got tipped off. (retired ... don’t actually know anything ... free to wildly speculate)

  15. According to my test friends, that's a early test video. That's why they do test to identify and work those issues out. People have short term memories considering the early -135's had AR pumps that would blow up when they got hot, killing the crew.

  16. My reading of the current AUMF is that it covers individuals and groups responsible for the 9/11 attacks and "associated forces." So I'm curious: my non-lawyer (moron pilot) reading of the language in the authorization seems to not pass muster for us attacking anything Iranian. I'm sure there are rooms of lawyers that have crafted obtuse opinions justifying this crap, but I can't see for the life of me how it isn't a violation of the warpowers act. Hopefully somebody who flunked out of law school before they went to UPT can explain it to me. Not saying this guy doesn't totally deserve what he got, but if the Iranians got off a rocket attack that purposefully targeted and killed the Chairman of the JCS, it would be an act of war, right?

  17. Noted and your point is legitimate, I would call it a deliberate sacrifice to try to shape events favorably Take the sensors out of the oldest Block 10 GH and put a ballast load in, fly it just inside 12 NM off their coast let them give it a Viking Funeral Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Point of order: RPAs aren't disposable aircraft. However, I acknowledge that a downed RPA has a different set of secondary/tertiary effects. If policy makers slap the table, I'll salute and march out smartly.
