  1. Yep, been discussing it all day on a Texas firearms forum I'm on. There's been a lot of arm chair experts criticizing the reaction time of those involved, but honestly I felt they did an excellent job given how quickly it happened. It appears the defender made a 20-22 yard head shot. God bless him! Certainly the fact that a lot less than the 26 killed/20 wounded from Sutherland Springs and the state easing up on the restrictions where licensed individuals can carry proved that such tragedies can be avoided or minimized when armed, law-abiding citizens are present. It's sad that people have to protect themselves from such threats, but the reality is failing to do so can have much more terrible consequences.

  2. I'm a day late in posting this... But on 29 Dec 1845, The Great State of Texas allowed America to join it. You're welcome.

  3. Don’t go active duty. Be a full time reservist or AGR. there’s literally not a single perk to active duty over that, it’s why big blue tries to hide them and downplay it. Active Duty

  5. There is a video of the Texas church shooting today where an old guy smoked the perp from the other side of the room with one shot. Doesn’t happen often but today a good guy with a gun prevented another Auckland or Sutherland Springs massacre.

  6. I’ve been at Luke for 4 years. Everything whis said is true. Have lived in Goodyear and Buckeye and friends have lived all over. Obviously anything outdoors you can do in AZ. Hiking, camping, hunting and fishing all within minutes of Luke. Skiing and snowboarding up north for almost half the year. Hot, long summers and winters aren’t bad. Luke is only a few hours from California beaches, Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. I’ll be here for another 2 years as well. Daycare on base was great for my kid. If you’d like a different perspective from whis you can shoot me a PM as well. Seems like they know their stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  7. Standard answer... it depends. Base housing is about as convenient as it gets for your work. Most popular areas to live off base are Verrado, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Glendale (Westgate area), Buckeye, and Goodyear. Steer clear of Avondale and El Mirage... both are pretty rough. I recommend looking for a single story house and one with solar to help offset the bills... summer months are brutal on the pocketbook due to electricity cost. Normal $$ for a 2-story in June, July and August is around $300-500 per month... and if you have a pool, it will only go up from there. If you have kids in school, there are many options ranging from Luke Elementary (from what I have heard, not one of the greatest schools) to Private schools around the West Valley (Arizona will reimburse military members to basically offset the cost of private school to nearly nothing). Most popular options for schools are Trinity Lutheran, Verrado, Litchfield Park public schools are well regarded, and then there are several Charter Schools (Legacy, etc) around the area. I’ve been stationed at Luke for the past 3.5 years. And will be here for the next 2.5. PM me if you have any other questions. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  8. Pyro and I were in the same IFF class. We've been buds since then. I got to spend some time with him back in April, he knew this day wasn't far off. He was a hell of a dude, I know Sara and the kids are hurting right now; but boy they had a pretty good last year all things considered. I'm so glad they took the time these last few years to make some family memories. Those will pay off for the rest of the kids life. RIP Pyro, you are missed broseph!

  9. Fellas, it's a complete buyers market right now. Due to every swinging dick Major and their mother punching out, Big Blue is getting desperate to keep dudes in. I came from the C-130J community, and I've heard from bros that Sq/CCs are telling dudes to put down their wildest dreams on their ADP or whatever the fuck it's called now and they will fight to make it happen. The chips are in your stack; time to bet big and make them fold. You're a heavy driver and want to fly bombers? Ask. If they say no, give them both fingers as you walk out the door and walk straight into a ANG/AFRC unit of your choice and apply. Don't want to fly after AD? You're in luck, because every major is hiring anyone with a pulse right now. You've never had more power. Use it wisely.

  11. “The Air Force is abandoning its “Gray Wolf” swarming cruise missile development program to instead funnel funding toward “Golden Horde,” an effort to get existing munitions to cooperate in combat.” https://www.airforcemag.com/afrls-new-goal-make-munitions-plan-attacks/ When they realized the name was the same they figured it would just be easier to burn the building down and walk away then staff the paperwork to change it.
