  1. As a follow up, for anyone who’s having trouble accepting/can’t sleep at night with the thought of such a toxic and dishonest leader in our ranks, have no fear. The incoming AFSOC/CC is well known for 3 things: 1. Interpersonal skills generally associated with people on the spectrum. 2. An intense dislike of pizza, Santa, kittens, and pornography. and perhaps most importantly 3. FIRING THE SHIT out of anyone he deems an incompetent or lacking in integrity (the CAT-5 incident mentioned above being the one round off paper in an otherwise very tight shot group over 25+ years). Slife won’t give a fuck how many times scissor me timbers has been yelled or what level of diversity is represented, he’ll can her ass quicker than Clark Griswold climaxes over the thought of Light Attack in the USAF if he thinks she’s dishonest. It’ll probably work itself out.

  2. That is crazy. When I saw “disrespected subordinates” and “AFSOC General” I thought it was someone else... Also, if the IG is looking, I’ve never pencil whipped anything on my flights.

  3. Which it didn't do. Mueller - former head of the FBI and personal friend of fired Comey - and his team - literally lawyers who represented Hillary and/or her Foundation - didn't turn a blind eye toward anything Trump. And found nothing to charge him with, DOJ finding about indicting a sitting president or not. Not one charge was substantiated, only "not not substantiated." Which means what, exactly? Pretty sure that "innocent until proven guilty" is still a thing. Mueller's endgame was to tee this up for the impeachment crowd. Bring it. I'll buy the beer. I look forward to the investigations into the infamous Dossier, the Comey/McCabe?Ohr/Strzyk/Page/Clapper/and especially Brennan's roles in this "matter (see what I did there?", and the 300+ unmasking of AMCITs' communications in the closing days of the Obama Administration.

  5. My unit has been lining guys up on a downrange trip first, then they go down and sign the paperwork. It sounds like that was worked out well so far.

  6. IC-1 to 11-214 just dropped. Gents, please take a few minutes to review the revised Terminate criteria and sign off the FCIF before stepping for your next 2v2.

  7. Holding to a penetration approach. Then back to holding. Looks routine.

  8. Nothing...but that’s not why we do what we do (which of course I know you know that and aren’t implying otherwise). Of course the irony is not lost on me when some chief who hasn’t fought a second in his life gets a bronze star on his way out of CENTCOM. I had to argue directly to the one star wg/cc at BAF why the JTAC I wrote a MSM for deserves it...official recognition is broke and that was the day that cemented my decision to go Guard (certainly not the only reason, just the 1069th reason).

  9. If you can conduct CAS from a box in Creech you can do it in a B-1. With just the info from the story, the JTAC passed bad/confusing grids. That’s the root cause. I’m guessing the crew trusted the JTAC to much/wanted to help asap and didn’t question the confusing/wrong grids. Seeing IR strobes would have probably helped the crew realize they had bad grids but it’s not why these guys died. Lot of similarities to the AC-130 incident with the doctor without boarders incident in the ‘Stan. If you fly something that makes things go boom and don’t think you could get caught up in the heat of battle and make a mistake you are dead ass wrong. Just like the Swiss cheese analogy for aircraft mishaps these frat incidents can be looked at the same way. And ya, shame on CBS, run this story another week, so many better stories they could report on for Memorial Day weekend.

  10. Silly. We can melt civilians with incendiary bombs, but a photograph of an airplane - IN THE PAST - with a woman on it? Can't have that.

  11. Hey man, I was in the exact some spot out of USAFA minus the Lasik. Failed the CCT 9 times. Went unrated obviously. Went back to flight med, retook, passed. They made me take it again, passed it again. Proved I was no longer color blind which obviously makes no sense. Point being, as long as you show you can pass consistently now, that's all that should matter. I now have a stamped FC1 and a guard fighter spot. If a Doc gives you lip about retesting, don't take it. Make it happen.
