  1. Call me an @ss, but I'm so glad the entitled Fighter era is coming to a close (at least for now). Let the butt hurting commence.

  2. Meh, fuck 'em. If he's pissed enough, maybe they'll kick you out and you'll be happier at the airlines 5 years sooner. An OG getting butt hurt about something like this, and the fact you're fearful of reprisal, is messed up. Totally believable, but just plain wrong. SMH. We need better O-6s and above.

  3. 50% fighters at ENJJPT is still a far cry from the ‘08-‘10 drops.

  4. This guy used to be my troop at Altus. He was a prior KC-135 Boom, put on MSgt at 10-years, Test Boom at Edwards before even going to OTS. One of the smartest aviators I've ever known. Glad to see he got his wish to go back to tankers. He's a great dude!

  6. AFSOC already advertises a self-CSAR capability, but then pencil-whips the actual training needed to conduct the mission well. Everyone just sees it as a series of tactical events our assets already accomplish without training for the bigger picture. Without a doctrinal shift and a large attitude change, the HCs will be doing MC missions within a week of arriving in command, and HH-60s will be helping out the CV-22s from their current crushing ops tempo. More meat for the grinder. And if you want funding in AFSOC you would need to start telling people you do ISR or strike. We put freakin lasers on planes people...not CSAR!

  7. Blade Runner 2049 was absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt the best movie of 2017!

  8. I saw this same thing in the height of the last fighter pilot shortage at Sheppard on the T-6 side. It was damn near impossible to wash out of T-6s and even harder to non-fighter FAIP qual out of T-38s. I spent many an assignment night with my 38 brethren saying “Fighter for that kid? He was terrible in T-6s.” “He didn’t get any better in 38s, but there was nothing we could do...”

  9. I would suggest putting this through the OODA Loop and cascading effects, as well as sending an ALCON letter starting with the BLUF. After those wickets the answer will be obvious, V/R, Congressman

  10. Absolutely. A decent aftermarket trigger group, individual trigger springs, lighter buffer tube/recoil springs, etc. This article nails it: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/10/daniel-zimmerman/reader-weve-painted-corner-bump-fire-regulation-gun-control/ TLDR: If the ATF is charged with following the letter of the law, the law means nothing since the only means of mechanically increasing the rate of fire is to decrease the time required for the gas to cycle the bolt. That's obviously not the intent. If the ATF follows the intent of the law, the law is insanely broad; it doesn't mention bump-fire stocks by name, and opens the door to all manner of stupid regulations. GOP: grow a goddamn spine, half a brain, and stop pandering to the left/emotional hysteria with useless/bullshit/unconstitutional laws that have zero effect on an evil person's ability to be evil.

  11. She also mandated that we stop doing a bunch of additional duties, yet we're still tracking every computer and signing people up to vote in the units...
