  1. And she/he/it is relatively correct. MSNBC (with it's own cast of tax scofflaws - I'm looking at you Al Sharpton, to name just one) can publish nearly whatever they want. But somebody leaked the partial return which wound up in the bearded never gets laid reporter who gave them to Madcow. That person or persons committed a felon. Which is my point - if next time it's yours or mine, will the rest of you be fine with that? To have the IRS continue to work for one ideology and/or party as part of it did in the Lois Lerner fiasco? This is out in the street ugly not just, in my mind, the usual political shenanigans.

  3. It jumped the shark before that. TC just can't fathom that he could ever be wrong about anything. Reading his diatribes was a peak into the mind of a very special kind of narcissist.

  4. There is a theory that the President himself leaked this. The documents were stamped "Client Copy." Gaming it out: Pros: this return shows nothing really nefarious, shows that he paid taxes at some point (unlike the 1995 return that was leaked), and makes the left look like a bunch of raving lunatics Cons: none noted Just a thought... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/03/15/did-trump-have-his-own-tax-return-leaked-that-was-the-big-question-after-maddow/?utm_term=.0af0184bf126 Edit to add: link

  5. I have a helpful link/program for everyone like me trying to put all these packets together. You can combine pdf's, split them and do a whole bunch of other stuff for free. I was too much of a cheapo to pay for adobe pro. It seemed kinda janky but it's worked great for me so far. Here's the link. Hope it helps someone. http://www.pdfsam.org/download-pdfsam-basic/

  6. I love how leadership thinks they can actually control this in an effective manner, especially with civilians. No wonder the clubs are no longer any fun or are shut down. I have been out of the service for a while, but still don't enjoy drinking with my coworkers. It seems to only lead to trouble. You can't really control people or really save them from themselves. People who drink and drive will drink and drive. People who want to end their lives will. We tend to go full retard and go into accident/risk prevention mode on numerous issues in all service.

  9. You can't do anything about your BA GPA now. The best thing you did was control what you could -- you got mid 90's on the Pilot section of the AFOQT and PCSM score. Low Quantitative score depends on the unit. If you get an interview and don't get the job, ask for feedback. They've been there before, and they understand. Scores get you the interview; the interview gets you the job. Whole person concept. Good luck!

  10. If that's the truth, he gets more respect from me than he would if he made another Twitter statement. In all honesty, I thought the whole '100,000 National Guard members to help detain illegal immigrants' fiasco was self-leaked. It was 100% positive for Trump. It would allow him to (1) see what the public reaction of such a bold move would be, (2) prove that the MSM whines first and rarely fact-checks, and finally (3) come out and simply say "nope, didn't ever propose that" and watch as the MSM is publicly humiliated. But regardless, I don't think that this was a leak by Trump, although most of the media seems to be already falling back into their old habits -- complaining about Trump paying more taxes in one year than most people will make in their entire lives... And also, revealing the big scandal that he, like everyone else, does not want to pay taxes that he's not legally required to pay... *gasp* The outrage of such a notion!

  12. So let me get this straight... The suggestion is that we should invoke the ghost of John Boyd to buy a bunch of Gripens, which most people view as a complete POS, but it will be better because we'll buy it without a (big) radar. And since they have no/small radar, they won't be as hot so enemy IR sensors won't see them as well. And without a (big) radar they can have a smaller nose which of course makes them harder to see on enemy radar. It's RCS will even be smaller than an f-16 even though it already has a tiny nose and tiny radar. To make them useful as combat airplanes, we'll still have to hang a bunch of external pylons and missiles and shit on them which reflect RF energy, but it's okay...because it won't be as hot without a radar. Then it's one tiny motor will let it supercruise for long periods of time, despite the drag of hanging a bunch of shit under its tiny wings. Which is awesome because supercruise lets you surprise the enemy even though they see you on radar. Because you're going wicked fast. But that's okay because magically it will never get very hot because even though it's blasting through the air with a hot motor it doesn't have a (big) radar. So that means they won't find you as easily with an IRST. Even though they see you on radar. And it will have fantastic range because it won't have a (big) radar so the gripen's already tiny, pointy nose can be tinier and pointier because that's where all the drag comes from. And heat. And RCS. And the lack of radar will make it super cheap. To make up for that we'll embed some wicked awesome magic sensors in the wings but they won't cost very much of course because it's not a big radar. And radar is bad. Because it's hot. And because it won't have a radar, the price will somehow go down by $20 million enabling us to buy a few more of them so we have enough to get shot down because an attrition game plan aligns perfectly with our modern political will to accept huge losses. But that's okay because we can turn more sorties with the ones we have left so pilots can fly more so we'll retain more pilots. The ones that are still alive anyway. Did I get that about right? 14. Funny enough... Our current Army operations in OIR have through a combination of limited footprint for forcecap and minimal equipment due to fragmenting out resulted in a lot of bottom level mission command delegation. We actually have air mission commanders being air mission commanders again because the TOC doesn't have a way to get themselves in the decision circle jerk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Part of Trump's 2005 tax return gets revealed. And it shows.... he paid taxes. Leaking tax returns is a federal crime. It's all fun and political shenanigans until it's yours or the IRS is used a political weapon. Gold, guns, and ammo...

  19. Oh yeahhhh 36-2501: 3.10. Effects of Nonselection for Promotion. Generally, officers not selected for promotion to captain through lieutenant colonel for the second time are separated in accordance with AFI 36- 3207, Separating Commissioned Officers, unless they: 3.10.1. Are retirement eligible or within 2 years of qualifying for retirement (i.e., in the sanctuary) as of the mandatory date of separation (DOS) established for officers twice nonselected for promotion by that board. 3.10.2. Are selected for continuation. 3.10.3. Have an earlier established DOS. 36-3207 3.4. Officers Who Aren't Selected for Promotion. The DOS for officers not selected for promotion for the sec-ond time to the grade of captain, major, or lieutenant colonel normally falls no later than the last day of the 6th calendar month after the month in which the report of the board that considered them is approved. NOTE: This applies to officers twice not selected for promotion and selected for, but who decline, continuation on active duty. 3.4.1. The officers may request an earlier DOS once they know they weren't selected. 3.4.2. The MPF discharges regular officers and releases reserve officers from active duty.

  21. Then how is "leadership" going to micromanage?

  22. I wonder how many DUIs would have happened if the SPs/Cops let them go (ie...have someone get them) or drive them home...like happened back when this Colonel was a LT? Not that I'm condoning drinking and driving. Been a part of more than a few mass punishments. All it did was make the rest of us resent, and lose faith in leadership. Why the fuck am I being punished when I wasn't there, or had no knowledge of said incidents? It permanently damaged their ability to effectively lead us, and did nothing to solve the issue. There are more than a few states that ban alcohol on Guard bases. Ours was imposed by our state leadership (Army General) after a rash of ARMY guard incidents...in a different city! Until "creative measures" were taken, it SEVERLY impacted the debrief. We're on year 10ish of this alcohol ban.

  24. I like where his mind is at, but an 12,000lb fighter with the ability to supercruise and spend that amount of time airborne seems a bit fanciful to me. I do like the idea of flying 30+ hours a month though. I'd not be trying to knock out my ATP if that were the case. The 8 or 9 hours a month I've AVERAGED since flying Hornets don't give me much of a choice, however.

  25. Legit points but the LAAR is not a direct competitor or substitute for an RPA, but I believe a system to be used in combination with one, like an LOS Tier I RPA or maybe a Tier II. The LAAR does bring a lower cost operation and lower risk in some ways when operating in conjunction with other manned players but it's strongest point is its autonomous operational capability. No LOS, satellite footprint, no comms with the IMC, no problem - brief the crew and cut 'em loose. Start point, call sign and frequency - get the details at check-in. I'm not for just winging it but sometimes we need a capability to just operate on little planning or support, a LAAR seems to be able to meet that need.

  26. In court? LOL. Dude this is the military...it's called an order, and it can be a lot worse, even here stateside. Having seen several of these memos written for similar issues, this one still allows for plenty of leeway, and isn't written to "get people". As long as you aren't sending out the invite via a .mil address, you should be fine. If morale drops it speaks volumes for the CGO mafia there than it does for the leadership. Coordinate house parties and make sure people don't drink and drive. Socialize. Have fun. It's really easy. One day you will look back on these days and wonder why you spent so much time getting your panties in a wad over the most minor of inconveniences. His mission is to produce pilots for the air force, and by the sounds of it people are fucking with the mission. Your mission is to get you and your bros through UPT with a clean record. Do your job.

  27. True - it is an institutional character flaw in the AF. Pride, stubbornness and a lack imagination have infected it at the deepest levels. Agree that they were disruptive both short term and long term, the TAMI-21 sh*t sandwich though I think was way more damaging. There was a requirement, the AF stepped up to meet it but to reference Gates again "with the fine motor skills of a dinosaur" it manned it in a 1950's style that treats highly skilled valuable difficult to produce aircrew as interchangeable cogs to be used until failure then replaced with another. Unfortunately for the AF as a bureaucracy, it has not gotten the message that people have options, the ones your want to keep are hard to recruit, train and retain so it continues to stumble... if it were Gen Clark Griswold designing these programs, they would have heavily recruited from the ARC, not tried to nickel & dime the orders so that I could get a high degree of participation, looked for volunteers in the RegAF with the carrot of special programs following successful completion of their MC-12 / UAV tour rather than some pixel pusher who will need disability for repetitive knees stress (in residence PME if desired, base of choice, etc...) We have resources, we can retain key airmen, we just need to stop acting like an AF or military for that matter from a different era. What drives us into the dirt is that the world has changed, the wars / operations we are in are different than we are institutionally structured to meet yet we really don't change. The AF should be running head long into getting a LAAR not just as a cheaper way to deliver Airpower but as a strategic retention tool. I can only speak for myself but I worked my ass off to get a Pilot Slot to be a... Military Pilot. If you got 100 to 150 of these aircraft located at a few different, varied bases to give options for personal/family choices and QOL... instead of Capt X quitting after his second assignment UAV tour, he might stay for a career because he had a follow on in an aircraft, doing the mission and rebluing an officer in the process. Same thing for CSO. This will pay for itself for being about 95% cheaper when operationally employed and also when it retains hundreds of qualified aviators in the AF over the course of its operational life:

  28. The irony... I remember when Huge was the Mayor at a certain flying training squadron at Moody. Those roll calls were some of the rowdiest I've been to, even 15 years later. I wonder what 2002 Huge would say to 2017 Huge.

  29. Well at least we don't "have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it... away from the fog of the controversy *insert menacing smile*" -Pelosi Now she's saying "The American people and Members have a right to know the full impact of this legislation before any vote in Committee or by the whole House." At least she's figured out that if you contradict yourself all the time, you're right at least half of the time! Big win.

  33. My crew and I fragged the shit out of that ford and managed to put our fair share of the holes in the towed vehicle on the first day of live fire. To all you U-28 pansies getting out because of orders to Cannon, fuck you, hope you enjoyed florida and welcome to team cannon. I don't know about you, to the ones getting out because of cannon I'm sure I know about you, but I requested this place/command for the MISSION... I've had a blast here over the last 5 years and am getting out for other reasons. But seriously, if you dropped papers and still have a commitment... I'd welcome you and have a very nice house for sale in the North East of this amazing town and would give you a "friends" price but hope to be gone well before you show up. cheers
