  1. Chang records a cost savings on his spreadsheet with a smile on his face.

  2. Yeah, the standard IDLE / MAX reaction. My AFSC is critically manned but the increased production is only creating more problems. Now we should have a lot of popcorn (mentoring in progress) but only three guys to lead as blue one. Of those, one is sitting SOF, the other is TOP3 and God forbid someone has to take leave because the CC is at standup and is unavailable to fly.

  3. There's still a lot of commanders out there with the anachronistic mindset that no matter how under-resourced, everything will get done. Ok, but you're paying the cost out of somewhere, even if you refuse to acknowledge or quantify that cost. Typically it's on the backs of Airmen (creative leave policies, long days, the list goes on). But hey, MY SQ/GP/WG got everything done, that's what really matters.

  4. Holding my breath for that 12B bonus, since we're now critically manned. Any day now...

  5. I think with an increase in allowable bonus the AF should (will?) try to tailor the bonus offered to folks based on core AFSC and manning for that year group. 11F and RPA folks will go straight to $60K. I've heard some discussion on this as well as an even more "personal" bonus where WOs or folks with other specialized skills may be offered more than a standard line flyer.

  7. On Brexiting BO.net? I don't need you guys. I can make it on my own. In fact, fuck you all, you controlling bastards. On Brexit EU? I think that the underclass majority (non-immigrant, working class) finally got to have their say. After decades of being marginalised by a PC establishment that favours championing the rights of minority groups at the expense of everyone else, they had an opportunity to change the course the country was taking. I'm glad we're leaving. And I'm looking forward to what the future may hold.

  8. I am a bit confused, why would your company not want to process your clearance? It should not have any affect on your clearance once you get on active duty. You are correct in that while you have completed your TS background investigation, you technically don't have a clearance until you are in a position that requires one. However, you are eligible for one that your current company would submit you for. Once that is done, you'll "read in" for the clearances you need and once approved, you should be G2G. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss offline. Don't bother with your ROTC det as they simply help you complete the necessary paperwork. Your company security officer or SSO would be your best point of contact. Cheers! M2

  9. Here's my NBoK story, I contacted them in February of this year, 2015, and started working with Amy P. Unique to my situation was that I was coming off MLOA to head back to my airline job and was going to purchase my home right after getting back from my deployment. The issue was I would be on AGR orders for less than a year, and would not have 2 pay stubs from the airline to show proof of income so Amy did an OUTSTANDING job of just taking a copy of my airline contract with my seniority list to show what seat a could hold, and computing my projected income. Way above and beyond but absolutely outstanding! Fast forward a few months and I end of up getting extended on MLOA, home area where I'm going to purchase changes, but she makes it all happen, locks me in at the lowest rates of the year, answers questions on weekends/vacation, and does an incredible job. I honestly can not think of a negative thing to say about the entire process and will/would recommend them to anyone who is ever looking to purchase a home. Great work, thanks for all the help, and I'll be using them for my next home without question. Sledy

  10. Well I'm new to the game and have been asking every question I can about this. The six year becomes four after you get qualified from how I'm reading this. So for airline wannabe pilot guys like me I have to calculate how long will it take for me to compile the hours for PIC and eligibility for the airlines. While posted minimum requirements may drop, that doesn't mean everyone that meets mins will get the jobs. Maybe I'm being too reserved as well as you mention avoiding paycheck to paycheck being that I have 3 deps on one paycheck for now. I have a lot to learn about troughing as well. This could also be huge in comparing fighters vs MAF. But bottom line, taking the ART slot doesn't limit your pay if you're willing to work mil on the side and balance. I guess my bottom line is maximizing income as well as hours and finding that happy medium. If I'm missing something by all means spell it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
