  1. I have nothing to add, other than not wanting to see that terrible suppository picture on my phone every time I open this app. So, here's a picture of Yeager's Starfighter instead.

  2. This answers at least one of the questions, IMO, to be answered before changing out. Can she/you handle recoil of something larger than, assuming, a 9mm? Is capacity vs. caliber something you consider? Can she/you deal with any malfunctions that could (not likely) occur with a semi-auto or would a revolver be a better choice (since you specified a couple of semis, I guess I know)? Is budget an issue? You named some very adequate, even good brands. You don't lack for choices, so narrowing any of your variables down will help. Just some advice from Capt Obvious...carry (see what I did there?) on... Personally, my nightstand gun is a S&W M&P 9 with 17 rounds. Wife can use it as well. I carry, however, an XDS in .45. She carries a J-frame S&W .38. The M&P has been utterly reliable through 1,000+ rounds.

  4. Yeah, I love how afpc says they "don't negotiate with terrorists" whenever anyone puts something like that on their adp. It's not that we are terrorists, we are giving you an accurate picture to work with. We have determined that if we get an assignment below a certain cut line, it is not worth it for us to stay. You would think afpc would appreciate having such direct and blunt Intel, but then they have always been more of a shell-game group of scheisters who don't like being forced to make tough decisions - just handing out raw deals (sorry, bad timing!) so we have to make tough decisions...

  5. Today would have been Rich's 43rd birthday. Raise a glass to a warrior and great man, gentlemen... 'Till Valhalla, my friend! Cheers! M2

  6. And they tried to send a guy from up north a while ago... he didn't want to move and he told his SQ/CC "if they give me orders to the FTU, I'm getting out" SQ/CC tells OG/CC "If you give this guy FTU orders, he's getting out" AFPC gave him FTU orders. He got out. Another mark in the K12B losses column.

  7. - Avoid a Wing CC letter that is a regurgitated OPR. The letter needs to have only two sentences. 1, "I fully support Capt Smith's application to the U-2 program". 2. "Capt Smith is available to PCS after 1 December 2017." Anything else he writes is pretty much ignored. So save everyone the time that will be wasted on crafting a literary masterpiece. - Print your OPR's head-to-foot, like the directions say. They are put in a folder by punching holes at the top. To read the back, they are flipped up. As such, we like to be able to read them that way. - Official Photo. Don't know what that is? Ask around. It is NOT taking a selfie in your flight suit. It is NOT a flight line photo in front of your jet. - Why I want to be a U-2 pilot letter. Don't email me or anyone else and ask for advise in writing this. This is YOUR letter. - If the directions tell you to redact your SSN from OPR's, do it. As with everything, check with Shooter and NoMo for the latest expectations on the application. DSN 368-4447.
