  3. Hal Hornburg flew with us back when he was ACC CC. He had zero knowledge of the BUFF so we messed with him a bit. The throttle cables run right above the Radar Nav and Nav's head downstairs. When he flew with us the pilots showed him the amazing technology that was the VATS. I think I've told this story before here on BO, but anyway he's up in the IP seat and the pilots are telling him about VATS and he's completely perplexed when the AC says throttle up on 4-8. Throttles move forward, speed increases, Hal is beside himself. The demo goes on in various ways for about 15-20 mins. It was a good flight.

No blues mondays, friday shirts, callsigns on nametags, shitcan masters required for Maj, don't do school corres AND inres, etc. I agree nothing monumental, but at least he reversed a lot of the bullshit skelator 2 gave us. The more sad part is he had to spend so much time undoing crap like that all while being drowned in bullshit forced on him by congress. Don't hold the chief down with "highest priority!" items like SAPR (as one example) and let him focus on what we actually exist for. I can't cast stones at the man, but I can cast countless at the "leadership" above him.

  5. derail (sorry): except for loss of consciousness events. I know a dude who got kicked the curb for a minimum of 2 years even after 2 separate neuros gave him clean bills of health. Yeah, I also know a guy who totally was healthy and like was friends with four different doctors and each one said he was good but then the dumb FAA guy was like "nuh uh," but I totally know the whole story and there's no way that my buddy didn't tell me everything and that he knew his whole medical record and I memorized the FAA standards last night.

  12. You got scolded over on APC for a similar post, so I guess I'll do it here. You got paid to get off active duty early, right? There were a few strings attached to those dollars, but you decided those strings were better for you than staying on active duty and the USAF was happy to oblige. You also knew all the IRR responsibilities and possibilities for future service when you took that money and signed all the paperwork detailing the specifics. Now you have some minor responsibilities to meet and you come on here bitching about losing a little airline pay. YGBSM!! Good grief, it's in May. Bid around it if you can. Trip trade to deconflict or mil drop if you have to. Pick up an extra trip between now and then if you need the coin that badly. Bottom line - suck it up, dude. Plenty of us here mil dropped airline trips worth thousands for drill weekends worth hundreds month after month, for years. Others got activated for extended periods, left their airline and took a serious monetary hit for 6 months. They probably could have come on here and gotten some actual sympathy but they didn't bother. They sacked up and did what they committed to do. Your pu$$y hurts over one IRR muster two months from now? You should be able to figure out how to make that happen with that much warning - don't ya think? You want to get some info about what to expect that day or some "been there" guidance from the bros - that's what we're here for - ask away. Coming on here and whining about losing some money is some real SNAP BS. I hope you're embarrassed - because you should be. Rant over.
