Probably due to the fact they let a lot of pilots leave via TERA and VSP last year, combined with normal attrition. Not allowing for fighter/bomber applicants makes for a much smaller pool to draw from.

Agreed the movie was great. They glossed over a lot of details--usually that's a negative for me, but they did it in such a way to only focus on the story, vs asking for audience buy-in to something. Pretty thought-provoking, I've had it on my mind for days.... Disagreed on the best-looking chick (you posted #2); #1 is Alicia Vikander:

As a still flying, combat capable 55 year old airplane that has participated in every war since the current model's production in 1960 (along with the KC-135), I think the BUFF has earned the privilege of telling a few "war" and "there I was" stories. Also, if you knew your Air Force history, you would remember that the "mach tuck" you speak of was originally called a "bomber crush", which was a crease from the headsets that the WWII bomber crews wore over their flight cap during their combat missions. Other than those two minor critiques, you shacked the rest of your post. -9-
