Exactly. The arguement was that it shouldnt matter what someone does in the privacy of their own bedroom. This was all going to be transparent and nobody would notice. Nothing would change. If that is the case, then why is there a need to publicly celebrate it?

While I'm not opposed to the idea, I think this is going to end up another waste of time and resources. I don't have anything against cultural celebrations, but I think it's a little ridiculous when we stop performing our primary duties and take a day off so everyone can go see the African-Asian-Hispanic-Pacific Islander-Gay-Hindu-Muslim American booth set up at the base gym.

Back on topic though...you're telling me the Pentagon has dedicated a day to celebrating a group's sexual orientation, but I can't watch straight porn at work? I'd get in trouble if I came to work boasting about my sexual exploits like my version of my check ride with those chicks...but we are going to spend the day celebrating a small group's sexual orientation? When you think about it, their sexual orientation is the only difference between them and the rest of the service...at least that is how i am supposed to look at them according to CBT slide 66. Why are we celebrating sexual orientation for one group of people? How exactly am I supposed to celebrate gay pride. Normally on cultural celebrations, we try foods, wear dirndl or lederhosen, look at history...this is not culture!
