Also, the same info is getting jammed up in the user profile view.
I understand that long days, TDYs, deployments are part of the game. I get it, and I (and my family, frankly) don't mind executing that for valid reasons.
"These CBTs must be done for the third time this year so we all look really current for the next exercise" is not a valid reason.

Also, the quotes and the main body of posts seem to run together (not set apart in the layout like they were with the previous software).
Queepy? Yes. Just something I noticed.

The new software doesn't do this. You have to click the topic, which lands you on the first page of the thread, then click the last page. An extra click isn't going to kill me, but is this by design? It is a little annoying.

A user's reputation will be displayed on their profile and is based on the number of points that user has. You can configure 'Reputation Levels' in the Admin CP, a level includes text and/or an image, as well as the point value needed for that level. The point value can be either positive or negative, so you could create a level system like this:
-50 Negative Level 2
-25 Negative Level 1
0 Normal Level
25 Positive Level 1
50 Positive Level 2
A user receives or loses points when other users vote up or down the content they have submitted to your community. Forum posts, gallery images, blog posts, etc will all have +/- buttons that your members can use to vote on the associated content. This system is entirely modular, which means that modification authors can also include the reputation vote buttons in their mods and your members can vote on that content as well.
The forum includes filters to view or hide posts based on the number of points that post has received. So you can choose to hide all posts that fall below -25, or any other value that you set. This system works much like the ignore user feature, the post will be hidden with an option to view it anyway. It is also possible to set an upper threshold that will highlight posts that have more than X amount of points.
The system has several configuration options as well. You can choose to allow your members to only give positive votes, or only negative votes, or both positive and negative votes. You can choose at what level content becomes 'highlighted', you can exclude specific groups from the reputation system, choose if the reputation is displayed on profiles, and choose if the total point value is displayed on a post or other type of content. You can also limit the number of positive and negative votes that a user group is allowed to give in a 24 hour period.
We hope you enjoy this first look at the new reputation system, in the coming weeks we will be releasing more information on this system, including screenshots! As always, please let us know what you think of this feature, you're feedback is invaluable in finalizing all the new features in IP.Board 3.

looks like the quote thing got fixed for new posts, based on the other topic I already started...! ;) Guess we're stuck with all the migrated posts with the quotes not working.
edit: but it looks like emoticons didn't carry over?

I'll begin work on some of these items (emoticon migration) - but some will have to wait for patches, etc. Sorry for the glitches, hope the good outweighs the pain at this point...
Keep adding to this thread.

I think it does. Once you get used to it and the bugs are worked out, it ought to be much more easy to use and navigate.

Clicking it now, for example, doesn't bring up the smoking thread on the first page, despite the fact that it does bring up older threads that were posted to yesterday.

Hey nsplayr:
multiquote = if you want to reply to lets say for instance, 4 posts, you would hit -multiquote- to the first 3 posts you want to reply, and on the 4th one you would just hit -quote-.... then in your reply post you will have quoted all 4 posts you wished to reply to
its used to eliminate forum clutter by people replying to an individual post one at a time, so instead of 4 posts you have 1
haha hope I was some help. =]
Totally like the forum skin upgrade btw!

I hope this new format helps with the administration of the forum, but for the most part I am not thrilled with it. Ancient craniums like myself don't like change too much. As a matter of fact, I was trying to figure out how to post on here using an IBM Selectric II...

With the new version, I found "Today's Active Content" which seems to be similiar to the old "New Post" link. However, there appears to be no way to surf to the last page of the thread. Several folks have already mentioned this.
To compound the frustration, on a long thread, like the SF thread, clicking on the link takes you to the first page of the thread. There was no "last page" link to click on. You could see there were 13 pages, but "13" wasn't a link. Once you clicked on the "12" link, then the "13" link became active.
Hopefully, issues like these can be fixed easily and quickly. Thanks to all those working behind the scenes keep BaseOps going!

I've seen the last page link since the migration...and I just click on the orange box to go to the newest post in a given thread (though that didn't work when the great migration happened, so I just went to the last page, made sure there wasn't something new, or read the new post, then I marked everything in the forum as read, and now the orange box works).

Does this work for other people? It would be a nice feature, but when I click "multiquote" on several posts and then "reply" to the last one I want to include, it only quotes that last post...

The Quotes error (missing trailing edge quote tag) has been fixed. I re-indexed/rebuilt much of the database so that omitted sections (i.e. blog comments) were resurrected.
Thanks for your patience and aircrew-ingenuity during this transition process. Inevitably along with the different look/graphical user interface, the security has been enhanced significantly with this upgrade.

It isn't working quite right. Well.... "not quite right" compared to the way multiquote works on other boards I frequent (with various forum software).
Currently, after you hit the multiquote buttons in all the posts you want to quote, you have to hit the "Add Reply" button at the bottom of the thread to get multiquote to work. Workable, but not how I'm used to multiquote working.
What I expect (and what nsplayer seems to expect as well) is to hit the multiquote button in all but the last post you want to quote, then hit the "Reply" button in the last post you wish to quote, and all the posts will come up in the text box for multiquoting.
If we're wrong, and it's supposed to work the way it currently is, I'll gladly shut up and color.
