Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's that time of year again. Looks like closeout for this year is going to be October 28th to get the packages to AFPC (I'll be hanging out in the Deid by that point in time :vomit: ). I just got the official message in my .mil account. If anyone hasn't gotten it yet let me know and I'll forward it along. Best of luck to everyone. This is my last shot without a TADFSC waiver. My stats are below.

Pilot: 98
Nav: 96
AA: 98
Verbal: 99
Quan: 91

PCSM: 92

PPL 75+ hrs

Good luck!

Cheers,

Matt

Great scores, if the rest of your package looks as good as that you're in a good position. Good luck to you!

I thought this was interesting in the message traffic:

Quote

E. APPLICANTS APPLYING FOR CSO TRAINING MUST INCLUDE A TRACK PREFERENCE
SHEET REFLECTING THEIR DESIRED CSO TRACK (ELECTRONIC WARFARE OFFICER (EWO),
FIGHTER, BOMBER, OR AIRLIFT/TANKER). THE INFORMATION SHOULD BE ON A SEPARATE
SHEET OF PAPER WITH FULL NAME, GRADE, SSAN, AND TRACK PREFERENCE. IF
SELECTED FOR CSO TRAINING, INFORMATION WILL BE USED IN THE TRACK SELECTION
PROCESS.

Is this normal? Didn't know if this was a new thing for the new nav school setup. Seems a little early to ask dudes to submit a wishlist.

Yep, been like that at least for the past 4 years that I've been applying. I think it just helps with deciding which folks go to WSO, EWO, CSO that kind of stuff.

When I applied to the ROTC rated boards I had to declare if I wanted "strike nav", but due to the change in CSO training AFROTC never selected strike nav's after FY08 (I'm FY09). Maybe the active duty boards just haven't caught up yet?

I sit on a AFRC pilot/nav selection board. Excellent scores for sure! If the rest of your stuff is tight, pack your bags.

This is for the AD board.. is that different from the OTS board? I'm just confused I think. Are you also saying that you were turned down with those scores from a previous board? If that's the case, I really need to retake my AFOQT :bash:

Are you serious? Scores alone are a relatively small consideration for the AD board...just like ANG boards. Scores may get you through the first cut but there are far too many considerations to tell someone to pack their bags based on scores. That's like telling a high-school pitcher he's going to the show because he can throw a 90 mph fastball. There are way too many other factors. I know this because my scores are roughly the same and I didn't get selected; however someone else from my wing with much lower scores, no PPL etc. did.
I'm not trying to jump your shit but just thought it odd that someone on a board would make that assumption.

In his defense he did say that if the rest of his package was similar to his scores then he will be fine...

Jump away.

He was asking about his "stats", not about anything else in his package.

Hey guys, this is getting off track. I created this thread intending to get people to post/compare their scores and talk about applying, answer questions, etc. Let's bring it back to topic. Is anyone else applying for this upcoming board?

Sorry.

P:97
N:91
AA:98
V:96
Q:93

PCSM:99
PPL with ~100hrs
And just so I don't look like a hypocrite: Good OPR's with #1/15 stratification and currently Stan/Eval.
Not sure if I'm going to apply this year or not. Leaning towards not.

Currently Enlisted Active Duty

I'm getting ready to begin applying for OTS but ran into a bump. Come to find out that because I received a Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) when I reenlisted in Oct 2008, I cannot apply for an SRB waiver until I have served half of my enlistment which is 3 years. I thought I would have the option of paying the bonus back but was told otherwise by the Education Office.

For background information......I have taken the AFOQT and scored P-95 N-94 A-76 V-39 Q-95 (I know shitty verbal). I also received a scholarship from the Air Force to pursue my Private Pilots License through the Travis Aero Club. I will be completing that by Oct 1. I will also be receiving a letter of recommendation from the Wing Commander b/c of this. Bach in Professional Aeronautics with 3.6 GPA. I still need to take the TBAS but was told to wait til after I get my private pilots license. As far as leadership and whole person concept, I have outperformed all my peers in leadership and duty performance. I also made E-6 in 6.5 years.

So due to me receiving a bonus in Oct 2008, education office said I have to wait until Oct 2011 to apply which would put me in age critical at 28.1. They also told me I do not have the option of still applying and paying the bonus back if accepted. I started doing my own research and was wondering if and Exception to Policy (ETP) letter is the same thing as a waiver? Since I'm ineligible for a waiver (Due to AFI), can I still write a ETP for this situation? Have you guys heard of anyone with this problem as well? I dont see receiving a bonus as being a good reason to delay my career progression especially not having the option of paying the bonus back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So what are my chances. My scores are not as good as your guys. P-95 N-94 A-76 V-39 Q-95. No TBAS yet and will have 50+ PPL hours. Probably going to wait til next board due to needing a Time on Station waiver.

Not quite sure what SELO is (I know that it means Stan/Eval Liasion Officer but I've never heard of that terminology before). I won't be applying this year for personal reasons.

It sounds way better in an OPR than it does in reality. Basically, the job is Stan/Eval paper monkey. The upside, at least for us 5 BW dudes, is that you are crew 1, and you learn a lot.
